@tomatosofficial11248 ай бұрын
@@a6am3mn0n It wasn’t supposed to. They had a massive CGI budget and intended on using it. The movie was more a story about the family & facing life threatening situations but managing to persevere.

The shockwave from the explosion would’ve also killed them on top of that, I’m surprised that they’re so close to the blast but yet the shockwave is like a gentle breeze hitting them. All that pressure of Yellowstone being released all at once would be immense, similar to how Krakatoa erupted but 100x more. The overpressure of a blast this massive when it erupts would flatten and obliterate them and anyone and anything miles away from the eruption.

There's videos on youtube from the tonga eruption in 2022 of the blastwave travel around the globe and that would be tiny in comparison to yellowstone

Fun fact: Scientists now reckon it's physically impossible for Yellowstone to erupt in any major way for tens of thousands of years, if ever. The entire geological structure of the magma network has changed in such a way that it can no longer build up enough to have any kind of massive eruption, and they think the underlying tectonic hotspot itself might actually be finally dying out.
