I remember when it was the charts in the Summer of 1973, I was Eleven years old back then, spending my first year in Clock Face, St Helens, then in Lancashire, in those days you would hear all kinds of crazy songs in the British charts back then, unlike today's charts nothing but trash. That is why I stopped listening to the charts now.

KZbin took me straight from Bruckner 5 to this! The Goons had finished before I was born (but not too much....) and I've always loved the silliness. Still on Radio 4 Extra every Tuesday (I think) at 7PM. Glorious.

All three (and Bentine) were barking mad, of course. Bloody funny: but barking mad. I still own a copy of the Goon Show scripts and they kept me amused for a number of years, both on the TV and radio. I was unaware there was a tribute to the Goons. I watched the tribute to Round the Horn (my favourite radio comedy of all time), and that was a top job.

What could you add? If you listen carefully you'll hear most of the Goon show cast. So doing a tribute show like this isn't just doing Spike, it's also doing Spike doing Eccles.
