Up until the day my mother died in 2011, she recorded The Young and the Restless. Even as an adult, she would get sooo pissed off at me if I tried talking to her while she was watching it. That was “her” time. I miss her so...

Word. Don Diamont was so beautiful, he still is now. Hard to believe he once dated Gloria Loring (Robin Thicke's Mother). They both had hits on The R & B Charts Gloria with Friends & Lovers and Robin made history by being the only Male White Artist to have an Album go to Number One on the R & B Chart. Only George Michael did that with Faith.

This was back when everything ((and I mean EVERYTHING!!!)) about The Young and the Restless was damn good. Sadly, that's currently not the case. And hasn't been for the last 15 years.

All they do now are constant storylines about the businesses. I recently stopped watching because of it.

@@oldhollywoodfan8009 and from what I've heard, their business storylines have been boring. I remember a few years ago that someone commented that the show did a storyline that was focused on a stolen ((power point presentation)). During the 80's and 90's whenever the show did a storyline about Jabott or Newman Enterprises it was done in a way that it kept you intrigued because it was all about high stakes. Like the time Victor first took control of Jabott. Jack was so devastated that he went home broken down and cried in front of Aunt Mamie at the kitchen table. And that other time when Victor took control of Jabott again, demanded Jack's office and Jack threw his chair out the window. All of those business storylines back then were very interesting and not at all boring. I'm throughly convinced that soap writers today just don't know how to create and write great storylines like the ones that did back in the 80's and 90's. They just don't.

That's not the Abbott house. This is the house she inherited from her husband, George Rawlins.

That was after they got married, later split and were in the process of getting a divorce which wasn't finalized before Cassandra was hit and killed by s bus. That happened right before Cassandra and Paul were to run away together. Because Cassandra and Brad's divorce wasn't officially finalized before her death, he inherited the house.

This might not be completely accurate. I have my grandmother to thank for me knowing anything about it because I was just a kid when that storyline happened. When YR was on there was no changing that channel to cartoons. So my choices were to sit quietly and watch YR or go outside to play in the Louisiana summer heat. Most often I chose to stay indoors and that's how got my start watching that soap as a kid.
