@@conorobrien5446 I think if you do a search on the bnb it had good ratings... but they're out of date, so I think the commenter didn't investigate further to see that the guest house is now a restaurant with probably council temporary accomodation above?

I feel for this young couple. But gosh, they need to know truly basic issues. A business plan. Do they own or lease or work the property and the responsibilities that come with that. Does it make sense to immediately aim for a "posh", five-star hotel given their skills, means, and market. I'm glad The Hotel Inspector helped them as best she could.

20 thousand is not a massive debt! Some people on this show owe over a million!

This was in 2007. That's still a lot for a young couple starting out. In just a few months. You add that up within a year if they continued down that path.

its star rating for a guest house not a hotel. Its different. You may not have this sort of guest house BnB rating in the USA.

Yes. I was surprised when I saw that dining room - so prissy and twee, with all its knick-knacks. The sort of thing I imagined Ruth would call horrid. The young couple's dining room wasn't that bad.

5* is a completely different level. It is as if a normal amateur football player on a regional level dreams about playing with Real Madrid, Liverpool or Bayern München. It takes 10 years of excellent practising to just maybe get a chance at that level. It is good to have high ambitions, I do respect that, but it takes more than what I see here. Aim high, learn along the way and if possible stay in several 5* hotels to learn the business.

All these guest houses in this show (these videos now) all have old and outdated televisions, from the 80s and 90s with small t.v. screens and put on a small table or on a chest of drawers (a dresser). Even after the guest houses on this show are updated, they still keep the little bulky t.v.’s. 🤷🏻♀️

Meanwhile, a cursory glace at a colour wheel will show that red and pink are side-by-side (followed by violet on the pink side and orange on the red side). In some decors, people choose Analogous schemes (side by side colours), Monochromatic schemes (pure colour, i.e., red

This is an episode over 20 years old, as someone has already said. Nowhere really looks like this any more (if it does, run!) Having said that, red and pink are commonly associated with hospitality. Menus have red covers, chairs and carpets in restaurants are wood toned or red.... lighting is also more warm toned to create an "ambience". Another example of this, is that blue and yellow are commonly associated with cleaning. Especially when paired with stark, white lighting. It feels more clinically clean and hospital, rather than somewhere you'd want to eat.
