The Young Marrieds (From 1965)

Not sure AT ALL WHEN in 1965 this episode was broadcast but nonetheless, here's an episode of the short-lived ABC soap opera THE YOUNG MARRIEDS
SIDENOTE - Something tells me had this show been on NBC or CBS, it'd probably still be on TODAY as it could EASILY be considered A PRE-REQUISITE to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS & ABC was the WEAKEST network of them all for another TEN YEARS

I have the script for this show as well as most of the run. Great show and performance by Brenda Benet as Jill McComb. Also featured are Les Brown Jr as Buzz Coleman, Frank Maxwell as Henry Coleman, Maxine Stuart as Martha Coleman., Susan Brown as Ann Reynolds, Michael T. Mikler as Walter Reynolds, Peggy McCay as Susan Garrett, Norma Conolly as Lena Karr, Pat Rosson as Jerry Karr and Paul Picerni as Dan Garrett. Show #283 and aired Friday, November 5, 1965

November 6, 1965 was a Saturday. There are no soap operas on the weekends.

This was actually on Friday, 5 November 1965. I looked up the Tammy episode that was referenced in the end credits, and that was the date. Love the theme music!!! Same composer also did Dark Shadows.

Brenda Benet’s real life was as complicated as the soap characters she’s portrayed. Fans hated her when she came between Doug and Julie on DOOL. Some say she even tried to come between their portrayers Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes in real life. She lost a young son and divorced Bill Bixby before committing suicide in the early 80s.

I did in an effort to remove all the noise. Plus, the speed of the audio was WAY too fast which made it sound like Alvin & The Chipmunks were the cast even though the video was at normal speed Why d you ask ??
