My parents told me in no uncertain words that if ever anyone blackmails me to come to them, regardless what I had done, they said that what the blackmailing is far worse and they would be on my side. Had she been able to go to her parents, he wouldn't have had any hold on her. Parents, please think about this!

Right, as a parent- I’d definitely want my children to come to me. There could be nothing that some person would potentially show me / our family that would be worth them risking their life to prevent us from seeing.

That's very similar to what I told my children as well; Only that I would take matters into my own hands to "solve the matter." My son forgot my earnest mantra to never succumb to blackmail. It must be hard, literally living at home in your parents basement, without medical insurance when you're left in dire need of dental care, dental implants or dental prosthetics~ I won't explain the details, of course, but the problem disappeared!

@@flannelpillowcase6475 Asking things like "Why didn't she just leave?" is a natural question. To ask these kinds of question to honestly analyze the situation helps us to recognize it happening and preplan methods to help others or ourselves when/if we see that situation in the future. We can't control þhise situations or other people but we can control our own actions. It's easier to control our own actions if we know what to look for and what we can do differently.

I have always hated when people say "why haven't you left" have always irked me- if you have never gone through it you do NOT know what it feels like to feel helpless. I cannot believe there are people who thinks it is her fault because she didn't leave, has nobody heard of the thousands of women around the world who did try to leave only to end up dead? If you really think this woman's abuser was a good person, or that she deserved everything she got because she used to work in the "adult industry" then you need to get your mind checked because that is not normal at all.

Ive been conditioned by an ex that I couldnt leave him no matter what, and I believed that for like 2 years. I rly believed i was trapped, like a bird in a cage, but the cage was built by him in my head. It wasnt actually there. Yet i was scared bc of how obsessive he was. I thought he could just show up on my doorstep bc of how unhinged and how much of a stalker he was. It took me someone special to convince me that I wasnt trapped at all and I have to do whats right.

Why haven't you left is such a insight question: where a person can think this thoroughly and would have left and no I don't support this for someone to say this to ashame someone but some people are mentally Hella strong and their boundaries are strong that if they sense disrespect they simply leave so yeah it's a shocker for you I guess but people like that exist and I'm glad there are people who can't relate to this lol but again I don't prefer anyone to use this sentence as an insult or in taunting way.

@@kuriquesharesias115 I understand that they are coming from a place of not knowing (thankfully) but there is usually an undertone of superiority and casting shame on the victim. “How can you be so naive/gullible to not leave at the first red flag? Couldn’t be me lol” most DV survivors(and those who didn’t make it) didn’t think or want it to be them either, a lot are actually very strong willed people, who thought their discernment was at top level. And from professionals, Abusers actually WANT the more independent people so the humiliation of abuse and breaking someone is that much more satisfying.

Took me 14 years to finally leave (with our son) my emotionally/psychologically, financially and medically abusive husband. My parents didn't believe me for the longest time and my mother would always say things like "well, you must have done something wrong" or "what did you do to upset him", not helpful. But eventually over time she started to believe me and said if I needed to get out I could move to her house until I get my feet on the ground. The only problem, she lived across the country (Canada), so I packed what I could and left everything I had worked so hard for behind. It has been extremely difficult, but way less stressful than living with my ex-husband.

So encourage other women to proactively leave at the first sign of abuse. Tell them not to listen to their heart but their logic. The more women talk about the solution the more women listen. As men we clearly can't change your way of thinking. Or just continue to excuse it and say, no one knows how hard it is. And for sure as a man that pities women that stay, I can never know but we all know what you're supposed to do

She is a survivor and my heart goes Tzuyang. People who hurt others like this are extreme manipulators. They cut you off from your support little by little seeding doubts and mistrust. They find ways to tie you to them, like the tapes or children or really anything that they can use to leverage against you. They begin tacking on other things and putting you into compromising positions and doing things that further destabilize your sense of self sufficiently and confidence. Then, even when it seems all sense of your capacity to act without them seems to have been eroded away, they don't stop. The amount of control they employ through force, manipulation and fear tactics makes it seem like there is no way out and because you are constantly frightened, unsure of yourself, and distrusting you fail to see those around you that would help if they could. Eventually it feels like there is no way out and hope for something better becomes nothing but a tiny ember with nothing to reignite it. For many, that is the end. They die/are killed or continue to live the abuse defeated. Then there are the lucky few who through some deeply buried will to fight or sudden change of circumstance occur that gives fuel to the dying ember of hope and they fight their way out tooth and nail until they succeed with the abuser trying every handbook trick out there to stomp out the flame or the person themselves before they can be free. Freedom only comes when the abusor can no longer reach you and you can let them go. This needs to be shared. This is a hard topic but people who have never experienced these things need to understand not only for their own compassion towards the abused but to recognize the tactics should they experience them too one day. I was with my abusor from 2006-2013. I finally got my drivers license in 2014 at the age of 27. I already had three children and was punished for getting my tubes tied. Everytime my money went to a car, it was put into the abusor's Mother's name so she could report it stolen should I try to leave with the children. Thats the other thing, sometimes the monster that sleeps next to you is not the only person part of the abuse. WIth no license and no proof that I bought the car, it wasn't until circumstances changed that I could finally navigate myself and my children away from the maw of hell. This public admittance Tzuyang gave must have felt terrifying for her but I hope it helps her in her journey to heal.

This story hits soo close to home as I am also a survivor. I know exactly how she feels. We should not think that women who are in a position of influence or power could not be victims too. I did not look like the typical victim. It was harder for people to believe me and it is harder to open up to people about what happened because of the position I was in. There's a certain shame that comes to how I could have allowed it to happen. When clearly, it is not the victim's fault. I am sorry to hear women all over the world still goes through this types of abuse.

Can you believe that some K-netizens actually blamed and bullied Tzuyang online for her abuser's decision to end himself because he was a coward and didn't want to face the consequences of his detestable and disgusting behaviours? Yeah, that happened. Being a highly patriarchial society, I can kinda understand if they are against feminism and feminist ideas, but blaming a woman while she suffered all kinds of abuse for 5 years? South Koreans (men & women alike) really be out there protecting criminals SMH

I don’t watch videos like that. I’ve seen a trend on tt that bothers me because I think something similar may be going on behind the scenes. They have thousands of people watching their lives. One is them getting dunked into water & having to dance in the water & they look miserable. The others are them acting afraid while writhing on the ground below a giant balloon being filled with water waiting for it to break. They have to fill the balloons themselves. I just get really bad vibes when they pop on my screen & I just simply cannot watch. I’m old, I understand fads or what y’all call trends now & I’m not a fan. Never have been, never will be. They keep everyone distracted from reality.

So "the ceo of her agency..." was only powerful behind closed doors but when he realized his truth wasn't going to remain a secret and he no longer had the control instead of ending her he ended up ending his own. This is an example of the type of treatment that led to the many suicides of young Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. I pray she finds herself and the strength to avoid going down that same path, especially when it comes to those who are victim blaming.

The biggest problem with that is that she would have to learn a new language. North Korea is the only other place where Korean is widely spoken, and well, at that point, she might as well revive her dead boyfriend if she went there. Japan, while it's language has ties to Korean also isn't that good if you're looking for women's rights, and while the US has excellent women's rights, it would also be a big culture shock and she would also have to learn English. It's all completely possible, but definitely not easy.

And this is why South Korean women are going “4B”, and now, women all over the world. If you don’t know what the 4B Movement is, I suggest looking it up. There are also a number of YT videos about it. It’s basically about not having anything at all to do with men: no dating, no marrying, no physical relations and no having children. And one of the reasons South Korea’s population is dropping rapidly.

I feel so bad for her, it can be hard being outside looking in but anyone that has lived with a narcist or abuser in her life will feel this all to well. I just left a 7 year abusive relationship where people (his volunteers from his CHARITY) came over sometimes 2-3 times a week and never even batted an eye at me with black eyes or after I was missing 2 teeth (which had been replaced by a dentist at one point during) and now he's slandering my name all over town and has been I found out for over a year. I doubt I will ever escape him unless I leave the city or I release a bunch of stuff like Tzyuang did but then it is possible I will still be the bad guy because he runs a children's charity.
