Its so nice to see the music living a live of its own. It will be in this world for as long as there are people like those guys who are able to play it properly. Not that they are the only ones but it takes some technique and humor to do it like that. Because humor belongs in music. :-)

These guys were there during a great time in the Zappaverse if you will. Cheapnis sounds just like the record.

No matter what you get from this performance, just remember, every note was written by one man.

in fact the bass part of the first part of Alien Orifice is Thunes. And it kept evolving over yrs. Then, the synth solo was Mars, is now Martin based in Mars… it goes on… No, to erase the contributions of band members like that in favor of a grand yet glib pronouncement is not the look you must think it is.

Scott is great. I know. But don't forget that his abrasive personality caused Frank to disband the '88 tour in Europe before they could return to the US for the last leg of the tour. I'd like to think they may have done their traditional Halloween gigs in NYC if they hadn't imploded because of Scott.
@hansvandermeulen55155 ай бұрын
Was it because of Scott or because of percussionist Ed Mann who decided he hated Scott and had most of the other band members (minus Mike Keneally, Frank Zappa and Scott) turned against him?

@@hansvandermeulen5515 I think Scott is abrasive. Read some of his comments on YT.

It seems Scott takes deep pride in being difficult.

Let's keep Ahmet Zappa away from this!😁👍🏻
@Muddytrickle2 жыл бұрын
thanks for sharing. If I understand correctly, this band is Ahmet's response to his brother Dweezil's band/effort. Ahmet can't play anything but has access to music that Dweezil does not. Sad to think this is how Gail and family handled Frank's legacy. Then again I am imposing my beliefs on their family. Dweezil's arrangements and musicians fortunately do not include an asshole for a bass player.

Coming in here with that, instead of a show of appreciation, makes you the asshole. Of course, that’s just me imposing my values…
@Muddytrickle2 жыл бұрын
@@Civilizashum first you misunderstood what i wrote. You clearly have not read about all of the squabbling going on with the Zappa famy over the music. Second i said the bass player is an ass and he is. Go read up on him. Third you changed what i said and called me an asshole and said those were your "values" Glad being an asshole is your value - i shared my opinion aka belief. I guess writing coherently is difficult for you. If i could remove my brain, like you have, maybe i could communicate at your level.
