This is coming close to the almost perfect clarity of CRTs. Wonder how much longer it will take for LCD to finally match them.
@MyouKyuubi2 жыл бұрын
no, that IS the perfect clarity of CRT's... it has already been achieved, now we're just discussing the time it takes for this tech to be standard for ALL LCD's. :P CRT's have these phosphor glow lines, and they are significantly longer than the white ghosting produced by such a high refresh-rate monitor. In short, LCD's have finally gotten AHEAD of CRT's... because LCD's have also managed a 0 ms response time too (on another LCD monitor i don't remember the name of), 0.5 ms, but less than 1 = 0, just like CRT's. xD So if we can just combine those two aspects, we've finally advanced this tech far enough to no longer NEED CRT's for any reason, whatsoever... Aside from having the genuine retro gaming experience. :P

Strictly a CSGO and Valorant player here. Seriously considering going back to BenQ DyAc 240hz after gaming on the Asus 360hz for 5 months. Games like CS where the FPS supports the Asus 360hz feels buttery smooth, but the motion blur is very noticeable in fast mouse sweeps that did not exist with DyAc. I use to be skeptical of the DyAc+/DyAc technology, I had a older generation Zowie and it’s motion blur tech sucked. BUT after a few tournament experiences (with different implementations of 240hz E.G. Alienware, Asus, Viewsonic) DyAc is my new standard for competition. I never want to play on anything below this level of clarity again. For those struggling to choose between the XL2546K vs IPS/1440p. For highest level of competition, Zowie XL2546K For FPS like CSGO or Apex or Valorant: Zowie For Moba: Maybe not Zowie because I never had motion Blur issues for these type of games. It’s like turning the motion blur setting off. You can better see and understand where your crosshair is and the environment around you. Zowie makes you pay a premium I now understand why and regret buying a non Zowie 240hz monitor a couple years back.

I’m having a really hard time deciding between this and the AW2721D. I upgraded to a 1440p/165hz panel from a 1080p/144hz two years ago and I’m enjoying it a lot, although I would really like a 240hz panel as I mostly play competitive shooters. I really appreciate the sharpness of 1440p at 24” but there just doesn’t seem to be any 24” 240hz panels at 1440p. I’m worried 27” will be too large for the shooters I play (mainly valorant and apex) but I’m also worried about downgrading back to 1080p, as 1440p is so much clearer and crisp. Would I benefit more from this monitor? I’m currently using a TN and haven’t used IPS, are the response times that much better? Is 27” just too large for the type of games I’m playing? Will the 240hz advantage be lost with the IPS and larger size? The zowie is also significantly cheaper. Any feedback would be appreciated

So in the end I will upgrade from a dual- to triple monitor setup. One 24" for competive shooters and 2x27" for the other stuff. I think I'll upgrade the VG248QE with the XL2546K. So when you are a tryhard I would recommend staying at 24" at FHD.

@@marv.hamburg that's what I was thinking. Thank you for sharing! The other issue I'm encountering with triple monitors is high memory clock/core clock if ALL your monitors aren't exactly the same. Pay attention, your gpu might idle at high temps because of that. The very slight difference between my 2 PG278QRR and my PG278Q makes my VRAM run full speed all the time (even on desktop) on Nvidia GPUs and core at full speed on AMD GPUs. (6900XT/3080Ti) I'm also loosing focus in most of my activities because of the ridiculously large screen area, unlike single 24" for competitive shooters.

for me TN panels are the best , im a competitive gamer , actually d3 in valorant , TN PANELS ARE A MUST FOR HIGH ELOS in ANY competitive game , dyac is just amazing how accuarate can show the picture on movement , ELMB too is the same as zowie but with darker brightness , zowie is flawless for competitive gaming! belive me i have a 2456k is just amazing

This Dyac+ is just marketing I have LG 27GK750F-B and when I acticve the Motio Bluer Reduciont I have the same results or better of Dyac+ premium how you show at 3:23 When I look at the ufo test on my LG monitor the image looks better than your 240hz Dyac+ premium photo image. The only bad thing about LG's MBL is that you lose 15% of brightness but I solve this by going to the Nvidia control panel and increasing the gamma a little bit.

just bought mine and waiting to arrive, that shit looks crazy. Upgrading from an asus vg248qe from 2013 to this will be insane, + that dyac is what i really needed since I play apex professionally and for a fast paced game like apex that dyac will do wonders
@daemon9853 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that ips panels have higher pixel response time so even though your getting 360hz, its not any faster than 240hz on a tn panel (also probably why you can really feel a difference) so your essentially trading the motion clarity for better colour/viewing angles. If they figure out how to do 360hz tn I would imagine it would have a small but noticeable impact on responsiveness.

You should make a video on how to calibrate a monitor. I know that everyone's preferences will be different and vary by monitor, but I have no idea where to start or what to even look for. Like a monitor tuning 101 or something. Thanks man, love the content. Just built my first SFF PC thanks to inspiration from your videos!
@breakies3 жыл бұрын
For anyone interested: Pro's that used the 360hz for an extended period all moved back to the BenQ's because of visual clarity and smearing issue's with the 360hz's that we have right now. Also many tend to use DyAc/ELMB/Backlight Strobing whatever you wanna call it at a high setting opposed to the premium or fastest setting.

On the Ufo test why didn't you compare it to other 240hz monitors with back light strobing? XG248Q is the same if not better then the Benq. How can you say this monitor has the best motion blur and then compare it to monitors running overdrive instead of backlight strobing?

i dont understand why people want a 1440p gaming monitor. It cuts your FPS by like 50+ when you play games at that resolution.

@ed-te1fp3 жыл бұрын
For 99.9% of us normal people, yes. But for elite-level competitive gaming teams fighting over cash prizes worth thousands of dollars, a few hundred spent as an investment on their players is nothing.
@alexogara353 жыл бұрын
@@ed-te1fp while part of that is true there is still 360hz monitors and high refresh rate 1440 monitors which offer better clarity and speeds, I have a benq monitor however considering you can get 1440p high refresh rate monitors for the same cost, I think benq is marking up the monitor.

looking at your mouse movement in relation to the gameplay, I realize why I'll always suck at FPS games because I'm literally too lazy to pick up my mouse when gaming and my sensitivity is always set to very high. As a result I'm pretty inaccurate with many mid-long range weapons.

Be a man and lower your sense, switch to lightweight mice with fast feet and big mouse pad, max your frames and you can do it.

One thing I miss about CRT monitors is zero blurring when reading scrolling text. When I scroll a document on a CRT, I can read the text even while it's moving. On every flat screen monitor I've tried, the text becomes too blurry to read. I wonder if this monitor brings back the zero blur when it comes to reading fast moving text?
@zaxmaxlax3 жыл бұрын
But the thing is you can put more and smaller text on an modern display, especially on high resolution, defeating the purpose of having to scroll it.
@PINPAL3 жыл бұрын
Have one myself, it's not perfect, but you can definetly read it while scrolling.
@billyelliotx3 жыл бұрын
Can't say for the XL2546K monitor, but on my Benq xl2720z with backlight strobing on, it does help, but fast moving text still has some issues. Had to do some service menu adjustments to adjust the phasing of the backlight to tune it. But I guess I don't get in this review with the backlight strobing. My monitor has it, I can see the alien pupils on the same test and it's an old display, so I don't get what this specific display is doing different than older backlight strobing. The issue that I end up getting with my LCD panel vs my Viewsonic CRT is ghosting of the pixels in front/rear. I don't get that on a CRT and it still looks/feels buttery smooth compared to an LCD panel.
