Janice Rule originated the role of Madge in "Picnic" on Broadway. Kim Novak took it over for the movie version. Then Novak's character decimates Rule's character here in "Bell, Book and Candle". I hope there were no hard feelings between the 2 actors away from stage/screen.

I've always lovedI this film - esp during the holiday season (for me, this IS a great holiday film). The cast - with Ms Lanchester, Ms Gingold, and Messers Lemon and Kovacs doing great work in supporting roles, and Ms Hunter - probably my favourite film of hers, outside Vertigo. Last, but certainly not 'least'; the incomparable Pywacket. I'm not a cat person, but Siamese are so loving. It's such an unusual use of colours the film's palette is so unique. It's a very..uniwue-looking Technicolor film, a lot of blue, with complimentary browns and beiges being used a lot, and emerald greens, and pastels are used , as well. It's not common. It only adds to the whole sense of...uniqueness. Ms Hunter, if you read this, you're so wonderful in this!🐈⬛
