Projekt Z beyond order is a world War II zombie shooter releasing at the end of 2024. It's going to have a 4-person co-op campaign and a cod zombies like horde mode. The devs have specifically said they base the gameplay off of black ops 1 so take that as you will. I'm excited to see how it turns out.

Cod zombies have dropped so badly. After vanguard flopped I dropped modern zombies and went to custom zombies or just played regular zombies. Mwz is bad, it is terrible. Gonna be a long one oh boy For the last 15 some years, I have been a Zombies player. Been playing the mode since I was old enough to hold a controller. It's always held a place near and dear to my heart, and it's never going to leave it no matter how many years go by. That being said, I do not like the direction the game took by integrating Tarkov extraction mechanics into the game, where a mistake completely takes away your kit. In my opinion it's lazy, entirely unforgiving, and it encourages players to waste time with contracts and defending your kit instead of actually doing the Eggs and having fun. Not even mentioning how BRs with progression systems like Warzone actively discourage players from getting into it, because it filters new players out. I DO however love how Cold War managed the Zombies system. It encouraged you to play more, with actually fun gameplay and movement, and a great progression system in the form of crystals. It felt like everything you shot actually had impact, every upgrade made you stronger, and like the game wasn't just going to take away all of your progress for bullshit. Mauer was probably my single favorite map to play, because while the Egg was simple it still took a goodly amount of time to complete and could be done solo quite easily, not even mentioning the atmosphere of the map itself. I like Outbreak, less so than normal Round-based, but it's still fun when you have other players to complete eggs with. I think, therefore, that Zombies should return back to Cold War's weapon and skill progression system, but give us more soul and with established playable characters. Outbreak can stay, as long as it's actually Outbreak and not whatever the hell Vanguard was, but Round-based should be the main focus and we should have characters we can all get attached to instead of bringing in whatever goofy ass skins we bought from Bobby Kotick for $30. Make everything actually feel like it has impact like it did in Cold War, but give us points per hit to return us to the old Black Ops days. Bring back the Weapon Class and Perk Progression system Cold War had. It was good, it encouraged you to play more because it was fun, not because you just lost several days worth of progress. That's really what I want out of a game: make it fun, give it progression, and make it forgiving. There's this competitive F2P shooter that came out recently; The Finals. It feels like if Titanfall 2 had a child with Battlefield 1 in the best way possible, and it's some of the most fun I've had with a PVP arcade shooter in years.

I think extremism is the root of the Zombies community’s unhappiness. There’s a sizable portion who take personal offense if you don’t like Origins or your favorite game isn’t BO3. Being a huge zombies player since world at war days, I was so freaking excited when they announce black ops back in 2010 and I loved it so much. Then black ops 2 came out and it kinda flopped for me with all the building the power stuff and finding parts but black ops 3 & 4 did an awesome job as well as Cold War then after that they just gave up on the community. I have no idea why this is but it feels like they don’t even try anymore and now…. I miss the old round based maps that had areas you could around on (not vanguard, that game was trash)

I think Moon is overrated to death and it’s all because people always talk about the easter egg and forget about how the map plays. Yeah, the easter egg is good… when you have all the equipment to do it. I feel like a lot of people glare at the easter egg so much on that map that they overlook the map design a lot. Like nobody actually plays Moon casually, that person doesn’t exist. Here are the reasons I don’t like Moon summarized in phrases I describe it.. 1.) Moon Man is a pain in the ass to meet in a hallway. Goodluck trying to get out of his grope cause your fuc- 2.) Nova crawlers have the ability to teleport now… WHY? 3.) You like excavators that seal you out of spots on the map? Well guess what, you gotta remove your helmet so you can stop that shit. 4.) Anyone remember when the 0 Gravity would just fling you randomly towards an entire horde of zombies? 5.) Oh shoot I lost Juggernog gotta go back to spawn and get it ba- it’s Speed Cola… it speeds up your life. Can you speed up my life span? 6.) The amount of times you spam “X” on that computer during that one Easter Egg step is how many times you spun the box to get all the items to complete the egg 7.) Who the f*ck blew the windows open in the 1st room 8.) Hey I can see a rocket down there, kind of reminds me of Ascension. Man, I wish I was playing that map instead. 9.) Round 25, it’s been almost an hour and Tunnel 6 still hasn’t gotten hit by the excavator. I think it’s glitched. 10.) Guys, don’t worry. I’ll train the zombies in spawn so we can farm points and get Jugg (I downed). 11.) “CodeNamePizza has Spedrun this easter egg more times than there are days in history.” -JC BackFire I’m not saying Moon is the worst map ever made. It has some redeeming qualities. But I don’t think it’s enough to justify the shit show it can be sometimes.

I’ve accepted that newer zombies isn’t for me, nor is it made for me. And thats okay. I haven’t invested into maps beyond bo3. Bo4 is fine, but beyond that I’ve had zero interest in playing the games myself. I like watching zombies videos, but I don’t have the energy or drive to dive into anything post bo4 (some time I’ll actually learn those maps). That’s the most recent CoD I’ve bought and unless I casually play multiplayer, it’ll be the last Cod I’ll ever purchase.

I have mixed feelings when it comes to mw3 zombies I can understand the complaints because there definatly at times are issues with it. But I can also understand why people like it. I haven’t played the game myself but still. I think in general when it comes to these things I think there needs to be a way to apply criticisms without getting too heated about it. Its definatly understandable to complain about some aspects of it but at times I see people treating this like round based zombies isn’t coming back. Last I checked round based is supposed to come back next years in cod 2024. I feel like the community needs a way to express the issues and problems they have with the quality of the game without it being a heated debate Btw I love round based I started playing the games with bo1 and bo2 and I would say I’m someone who definatly perfers round based and the older games but I can’t say I completely hate the new things especially when even if their quality is sometimes shaky they can be intresting at times I want the games to get better just as anyone else but I can’t bring myself to any stance on mw3 zombies. My only concern lately when it comes to zombies and cod in general and the AAA market is this focus on realism and cinematic over quality and depth. It's simply not solo friendly enough, the escort acv in hard dark aether is near impossible solo because of the crashing and sometimes if not then theres just too many zombies to kill even the scorcher doesn't kill them it's just misses and one zombie can destroy it easily

I appreciate this video, I feel like the bar is set really hard for casual enjoyers. Especially when we consider maps like Shadows, sure it's probably amazing. However setup has always left an annoying and sour taste in my mouth, but the main quests seem to be most of the hardcore audience's main focus. Sometimes it's nice to just sit in a map that holds your hand through set up, and you can just get to casually mowing down the hordes.

I believe that objective zombies is now a staple of the zombies mode. I'm glad that mwz is faster paced and a better version of outbreak I really wish it was a solo experience that's why I didn't buy it besides them rushing shit out. I really hope they would go back to bo1 bo2 zombies days so the casuals can be happy and hard core can be also. This comes on to treyarch to make their next game a banger that supports both styles and not shorting round based players with objective content like cw. I think it is pretty obvious that Treyarch want to keep round based as something just for their games. They know its already a winning formula. Im sure they feel that having round based zombies in every COD title would sort of make their games feel less special and they might lose some of their identity. So they just use these other titles to experiement and try new and different things. Anytime any of the other studios tried their hands at zombies it didn't go too well, so its very likely that Activision are forcing Treyarch to work on these extra titles. So they kind of have to do something different from round based. I dont know but its just always been obvious to me that Treyarch were never going to actually try make something for another game that could end up better than their own. Although ironically this is the most fun iv had playing zombies in a long time. I just wish there were more missions and that it had a few more elements from DMZ added

When I play round maps I usually play between 25 to 30 rounds which is about 45 mins to an hour. I think people are just mad there isnt an option to play indefinitely or until they go down. I did that only once in Revelations, I went to round 82 took 6 hours, never did that again. It proves that I can do it but do i really want to play a 6 hour game every time ? This aint a job (for 99.9% of the people)

Treyarch will never give up on open world zombies. Outbreak was the start and MWZ is not the end. People need to realize they will never go back to WAW-BO3 style because a lot of the devs who worked on those games don't work at Treyarch anymore. I think Kevin Drew was there since BO2/BO3 in a smaller role, but he clearly has a different vision for zombies than Blundell. After hearing the rumors that gobblegums might be returning in 2024, I think it could work if they made it so you acquired gums similar to acquiring schematics.

Not only did Black Ops 4 get disrespected asf (bad launch was justified though), Infinite Warfare was disliked and completely neglected by many people just because the trailer had jetpacks, and that is a damn shame. The campaign was phenomenal, focusing more on sentimental themes and teamwork rather than just the awesomeness and grit of the earlier games. Multiplayer, in my experience, wasn't so good, but I didn't play enough of it. Zombies, as much as I only have Spaceland right now, is still content packed. N31L Challenges across 3 stages of difficulty, 4 quests for 4 unique handheld arcade zap-gun wonder weapons, a ghosts and skulls quest that takes a while but rewards you with all perks, elemental ammo upgrades, arcade games, theme park based obstacles, traps and shortcuts, many special grenade types, prizes, and a main quest that involves contacting a freaking UFO, defeating an alien and blasting the UFO out of the sky for the first Soul Key. Also double pack a punch. Exhausting for just one casual game of zombies, but it all adds replayability and encourages you to get a different zap-gun wonder weapon every time you play again. What happened to the Infinite Warfare neglectors? They're missing out on a LOT of GOOD content!

I never bought the game but I remember playing it at a friends house. I thought the zombies was a bit cool! There was a map with a radioactive crab, they definitely had some creative ideas!

It’s the same reason why devs hate baldurs gate 3 and Elden Ring, players can tell when a game has passion behind it and when they are striving to make a game good. Zombies has since passed the age where it was a passion driven project after zombies chronicles made millions for activision and treyarch. The suits that run treyarch and activision don’t care about what the community wants they only care about the recent wire into their bank accounts. As younger and younger audiences start to get into zombies, they won’t feel the same joy that we had when we were younger playing black ops 1 on release getting to round 10 then restarting with your boys. It won’t happen because kids these days probably look back on bo1 and think this game has shit graphics and is old af why would I play that? As the newer younger audience comes in, it over turns the loses treyarch and activision would get from losing out on die hard fans of the series so they make the counter productive move to cater to a larger audience rather than the smaller audience. The reason why this is counter productive is because as seen with Elden Ring if you focus on just making a game good, it doesn’t matter how hard the game is, word of mouth and genuine enjoyment will promote the game to newer heights. Imagine if all the top gaming streamers like Ludwig, asmongold, and moistcritikal all tried to reach round 100 on the newest zombies mode because of how good the game and maps are? The results would be out of this world for call of duty, but instead of opting for the most basic route In video game and marketing design, they go for the safer route that will guarantee money flowing into their pockets. Make the game easy and advertise it to kids, even though the game is rated for mature audiences 😂

Mw3 zombies is just a lot of fun, people need to just enjoy the mode for what it is instead of what it isn't, we were never even going to get zombies unless it's a treyarch game, so the fact it turned out fun should be a positive, round based is coming back next game, it just is, it has a huge audience, people just need to stop pretending that any new idea is somehow a threath to round based.

The thing is I gave up on this whole Community about a decade ago after Black Ops 2 cuz I hated Black Ops 3 the story was going so I stopped caring. I only played the games that I enjoyed which was the great Trilogy of Treyarch. World of War Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2. And the story ended at buried. Origins was just a prequel. Outside of that nothing happened. And I still feel that way I don't play any of the modern Call of Duty's I stopped play Modern video games as a whole since I think the majority of them are shit. But I still play the games I enjoy. I think this is what everybody should do. Just play the games you like. There's no changing Activision's business model and they're going to keep shoving zombies down your throat and you're not going to like it like I did. I thought it was played out after Black Ops 2

I love zombies and I personally don't mind changes around them, i even enjoyed AW zombies and, dare I say, ghosts alternative mode was my favourite alternative mode after BO2. But what I really really really dislike is that I have to pay full price for a call of duty I don't care about just to play a mode I love, and I'm not ready for that. I haven't ever bought my own CoD, the only CoD games I had were passed down from my older brother, who has moved from Xbox to pc. I just don't feel like it's worth a full 60-80€, despite how fun it seems.

Honestly black ops 4 was that start of games with bad zombies mode. I love round based zombies map. I don’t really play any of the new zombies maps because they’re not round based. MW3 represents what Zombies isn’t about for me.

I think the communities issue is seeing the name “Zombies” and associating that with Treyarch sound based. A lot of people seem to think they’re trying to appeal to the hardcore round based fans but I don’t think that’s the case. If you’ve played DMZ then you’ll realize it’s more similar to that, than anything else. It’s pretty obvious that they’re trying to mostly appeal to DMZ fans and get them in on the $70 purchase, since DMZ has always been free to play. honestly that the majority of people I see playing this game. I could be wrong but I’ve played all forms of zombies through the years and MW3 shares more in common with DMZ than anything else. The contracts, the squad system, joining other squads, the plea system , buy stations, strongholds. Exfiling, etc. this is honestly just like DMZ 2.0 kinda but the game is a lot less polished I could go on but if you need anymore proof just look at the fact that sledgehammer is already releasing bundles geared towards zombies with enhancements to make the game easier for you. This is something that has only ever happened with DMZ, and now MWZ. It’s zombies yes but if you think the game was made for round based fans then just remember that round based is something we’re not seeing this year.

I just wish community wasn’t so hateful after BO3. Yes, the zombies mode was amazing. But man, not enough people gave IW, WW2, and BO4 a fair chance cause they were so good in their own ways, they just weren’t BO3 so people got disappointed. Now we’re in a weird point where it feels like zombies has been on the decline since 2016, when I believe it was 2020 (or even later if you liked Cold War).

It's not about new or old. Casual or hardcore. "Round based" or open world. Not solely. It's about what audience is being tapped into by how the game is made. Zombies stops being it's own game and mode when it tries to change and become more like CODs other modes to appeal to that audience. Zombies has always had its casuals and has had content that they can consume and enjoy. Zombies always gets new players year after year. And I don't believe anyone in the community actually wants to bounce them back to where they came from. Zombies was still the same mode though. Waw-BO1-BO2-EXO-BO3-IW-WWII-BO4-Cold War were all something actual fans that come specifically for it could enjoy. We may not always agree about the quality of each of them but we could all recognize the mode as wholly it's own that is separate from the rest of the COD modes. Now it's not. It is something different. Calling this a Zombies mode just because it has zombies in it is about as useful to say as a Bobcat is the same as a Mountain lion because they are both felines. They both may share traits but they are still fundamentally different creatures.

Infinite warfare zombies is the best zombies ever made. Ive beaten all the easter eggs solo (the ones that couldnt be done solo i did with friends) but i love infinite warfare and the overall vibe it has.

If you want to analyze systems from a critical lens, by all means do so, but do so w integrity. It is too easy to make a vid nowadays analyzing failures. If you focus on failures too much, that breeds a failing community. I will just be honest, I don’t appreciate the thumbnails that portray a community as “mad” just because there is growing player diversity within a community and maybe some games that were not cream-of-the-crop favorites. As a leader, you have the responsibility and the power to dictate what gets said because leadership is top down. Please reconsider your thumbnails and titles. Zombies is a game built on innovation, but in my humble opinion, they have taken it too far. They were pushing boundaries with Black Ops 3, using every ounce of creativity to make the best experience we could’ve hoped for. The problem lies within Activision and the yearly release cycle. Activision likes money, and zombies makes money. Treyarch* zombies makes money. They don’t have the time, creative freedom, or the people to make another masterpiece. We need to stop calling the zombies easter eggs, "Easter Eggs" because after BO2; these "Easter Eggs" are equivelent to a Final Fantasy quest for how convoluted and down right tedious they are. Not only that, a lot of them required 4 players so attempting them alone is out of the question which shouldn't be a requirement if it is an "Easter Egg".

I feel like the community as a whole would be happy if we got independent games again, not all companies chipping in when their games never really were similar which was the whole point of the cycle. I'm also glad I didn't buy mw3. I got to play it on a friends PC and I really am sad they pushed out a $60 dlc, not even 4 hour campaign with a recycled plot. recycled multiplayer with maps not even from the game it shares a name with and zombies that feels more like a chore and warzone with some zombies thrown in. I'm not a big fan of what COD is atm and don't have anything against players that do enjoy it, I just think we won't see change until Activision sees a change in sales. as long as they make money, they'll push out garbage *cough* loot boxes since AW *cough*
