Late 83 Early 84 either way that's 3 fucking great start to Finish records in a row from the Scorpions !! Cant say ones better then the other if Im gonna listen to one usually grab Animal Magnetism 1st or it seems to happen that way . One of the 1st songs I learned to play the whole song ...

1980-MAR-31 = Animal Magnetism 1982-APR-10 = Blackout 1984-MAR-27 = Love At First Sting There. No more bickering over the release dates. Wiki is your FRIEND. :-) In fact, back up one year to include the Lovedrive album (1979-JAN-15). Some great stuff on that album as well. Those 4 albums, in addition to the gems on "Best Of Scorpions Vols I & II", Savage Amusement, and Crazy World made up my Scorps library during the 80s and early 90s. Best music. Best times.
@BlackieNuff5 жыл бұрын
@ mindre begavet Yes, those too. Excellent albums, but "not quite as awesome" as the 80s stuff. Still kinda rough and raw, not as "polished" as what I have become accustomed to. My opinion on that may change once I get more familiar with them though, lol. The two Best Of compilations gave me a good start, and I love (mostly) everything on those. The 80s albums got heavy rotation in my music playback selections since the 80s, so we're talking over 30 years of getting to know the material, whereas I only got acquainted with the 70s stuff in recent years, and I am still trying to find the time/opportunity to just press play on those albums and get a full complete experience from them. :-) If the Best Of compilations are any indication, I'm sure I'll ultimately expand my "Scorpions peak era" to include the 70s albums as well.

What's really amazing is the Scorpions came out in 65 and nobody heard of them until the late 70s an early 80s I was only a year old when that band came out.. I'm 55 now God bless them because they have to be the oldest active rock band out there on the road today..

Always love this song. When I was in college, (early 80's), I originally thought the song was about our favorite bar in Ft. Lauderdale, THE ZOO...we became a permanent feature at that place for at least 5 years.

When I started playin live gigs We'd cover Scorps, and I couldnt help but notice the crowds always loved these guys .So they would get as close to the amps as they could Always smiling , and loaded, buy'in drinks like they were going out of style . Good music to party to ! Most of the audience didnt know the Lyrics, but they didnt care. So we had always another Scorps song that we could throw in there. Marshals and I played Ampegs n Peavey's bi amped so it would get pretty loud. The Scorps always was a crowd pleaser and created almost a Carnival atmosphere ! Wed sell out the door and the bar in about an hour 2 am and they always wanted more and wouldnt go home ! Our singers voice always got blown out on Klause Mein's vocals, so we save the best for last ! This was one band from the 80's that you didnt need a keybordist with , like opening a can of whoop ass !

I saw the Scorpions in 1980 when they opened for Ted Nugent and they were absolutely spectacular. In case you didn't know, the founder of the Scorpions, Rudolf Schenker, is the older brother of Michael Schenker, the lead guitarist of UFO, who cranks out all of that great screaming guitar on their album Strangers In The Night. You are right Rich, they were at the forefront of the 1980's rock explosion. Thanks very much.

#PinkFloyd It's about bloody time you did some Scorpions!! and a great song to boot...always loved this piece! If you want to hear one of the most beautiful power ballads EVER, you must do 'Still Loving You' as your next Scorpions track! Other definite listens are: Rock You Like A Hurricane, No One Like You, Crossfire, & especially Wind Of Change (keeping in mind that this song came out around the time the Berlin Wall was coming down - and the Scorps are from Germany! Fitting to say the least) I'm from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada!!

I enjoyed the 80's era of Scorpions, but it was a pretty large step back from the Uli era in the 1970's, in my opinion. "We'll Burn the Sky", "Sails of Charon", "In Trance", and "Holiday" are probably my favorite Scorpions songs. "The Zoo" was a good transitional song between the two eras though, so still a good choice.

These are their best albums: 1.Lonesome Crow 2.Fly to the Rainbow 3.In Trance 4.Virgin Killer 5.Taken by Force 6.Love Drive These albums were recorded prior to 1980 when Uli Jon Roth was lead guitarist (with the exception of Lonesome Crow which featured Michael Schenker on lead guitar and Love Drive which was Matthias Jabs first album with Scorpions ft Michael Schenker on a couple of songs). At that time Uli and Rudolf Schenker wrote the songs, mostly Uli Jon and they had a harder sound. Then came Blackout with Matthias Jabs as lead guitarist. Everything changed. They lost that hard Edge and became more of a Rock ballad band. This song's an exception cuz it rocks

Hi! I just found you guys and subscribed. I love watching Kel's reactions. I have a million recommendations, but since Kel is classically trained, you might like to know that The Scorpions were a very different band in their early days. Scorpions made some of the "sexiest" metal (metal that was perfect for making out - and/or more - to) during the 80s (along with Def Leppard and other bands). The Zoo is a song among that mix. In fact, the title track that this song is from (Animal Magnetism) is probably THE "sexiest" song ever... 6 minutes of hot, heavy, slow-paced, sweat-soaked, raw, "animal magnetic" metal. :-P I would recommend AM for a reaction video, but I dunno if you and Kel could control yourselves, haha.
