I can't believe how good this sounds. Now I see that the human personality can make piano performances if even the most colorful orchestral scores exciting ,full of vitality. This is why Liszt had to repeat a performance of a Beethoven symphony on piano. Unbelievable. The second slow then brought tears to my eyes.Excellent arrangement . Infallible judgement I wrongly would have not chosen single fingers for that melody but this arranger knew better. Hearing this was news if the day. Imagine a big Wagner or Strauss like this. If only we could have piano and players in all middle class homes again !

This song brings back so many memories, especially around 3:18 . Every year of high school, we play this when the Senior Commencement commences. My string orchestra also played this the day that we found out one of our classmates passed away. I always feel like crying when I hear this song, not just because of my 9th grade memories, but also because of how beautifully written this song is. I’ll never forget how it goes for the rest of my life.

The first half has a lot of moments where chords are overharomized, essentially resulting in noise rather than the rich complexity intended by Holst. The second half redeems this, at least in part.

Great performance except for the really naff bits added in someone's cod arrangement. For me the historic "footage" just gets in the way and becomes really annoying. Yes, we get it - the wonder of space travel and the infinite. We can imagine all that by watching and listening to the performance.

It's not a bad arrangement, by any means but... Am I the only one who feels like it sounds a bit... I dunno, kinda "stiff?" Maybe it's just the nature of how pianos make music just don't lend themselves to this piece... I dunno. I like it, but it just doesn't hold a candle to a full orchestral arrangement of it... Or that Saxophone ensemble that arranged it. Have y'all seen that video? Go watch it. It is simply superb. 😆

Their playing is outstanding! If only there wasn't that unnecessary abridgment (!!!) before the chorale that shifted the piece into the wrong key via some very spontaneous modulation (it was in C instead of the original Eb major -- in short, the "modulation" went nowhere...).
