Holy moly, you guys have the best land for riding! It's a wee bit fair here in Utah, but there's something mysterious about that semi arid/tropical enviorns down there. Not to mention the fauna lurking deep in the bush. So jealous.

Don't you love how we are all on the pegs for river crossings early in a ride then we end up boots in the water sitting down later on......

@@The_Apprentice_Adventurer a couple of mates I made a pact when we started rinding around Oz. No standing unless the river base was perfect. No point falling off and drowning your bike and gear and costing an hour or two for no reason. Another mate joined us and stood for the first crossing and drowned his bike etc...... I get you mightn't do it in the high country in winter but FNQ ... it's actually nice to have the evaporative cooling effect.

I’ve been following you both on and off for a couple of years now. This ride and the videos are top notch . It’s great to get 2 perspectives. I watch a couple of Pommy travellers who have been teaming up in their travels and although they both do awesome content on their own, getting the other perspective really makes it interesting. That’s Bald and Bankrupt and Back Packer Ben if anyone actually reads this and is looking for quality KZbin content. Bald and Bankrupt is legendary. Anyway you fellas are a good team, no fuss and no BS. 👍🇦🇺💪

It,s amazing how quick things change the creek you crossed before camping was about 2 foot deeper than when we crossed only 2 week’s difference i walked my bike across
@The_Apprentice_Adventurer Жыл бұрын
Yeah for sure. We thought we were early and would have high levels. Instead we had perfect levels for easy crossings. I guess it’s different every week there.

Great vid mate - bugger about the blue bag, but looks like you sorted it on the fly. Some great crossings, and Fruit Bat Falls - like you said, I need to see it in person.

Great video Lance, bummer about your bag gettin chewed up on day 4. Noticed that both you and Josh were having some stalling problems once you dropped into some deeper water, which makes me ask, have you both yet done the mod to re-route your Carby’s two vent tubes, upwards, from their normal positions where they usually exit below and behind the bottom of the bike’s engine sump, up to the top, and front of the fuel tank, just behind the steering column, to keep them free of water, unless, you are unfortunate enough to completely submerge, the bike, of course. 😉
@The_Apprentice_Adventurer Жыл бұрын
Yeah mate we both did that years ago. My bike use to conk out in 2cm of water. Lol. Just a stubborn bike I think. If I rev it it’s fine, I also wonder if it’s the rapid cooling of the engine when submerged in the deeper stuff. Mind you there were plenty of crossings with zero issues. 🤔
@EddyOtway Жыл бұрын
Your breather tubes from the carby are probably in the water that’s why she keeps stalling, gotta put them up high in the air box or something.
@The_Apprentice_Adventurer Жыл бұрын
Nah man they are way up there. That use to be a problem. Both bikes did it. Maybe I’m just weak on the throttle. Lol
