Simon, I am happy that you showed this very special deck. The book seems like it would also be a great asset to the solitary life. Some of the cards actually brought tears to my eyes. I believe this deck will give me great solace as I begin my solo journey in this life of mine. I have put it on my wish list. I might splurge and have my two chihuahuas gift it to me for my upcoming May birthday. Something very special to anticipate. Blessings to you my friend. Namaste 🙏

This deck, it really does speak to something vulnerable in such a sensitive way. It was tempting to get this but it was out of stock and another deck took that place for inner child stuff. You know, that smudgy edging reminds me of that quote from the velveteen rabbit about toys being made real by having their edges worn, bits falling off and being loved.
@rifflinthemind.5793
@rifflinthemind.5793 Жыл бұрын
'Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.' 'Does it hurt?' asked the Rabbit. 'Sometimes,' said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. 'When you are Real you don't mind being hurt.' 'Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,' he asked, 'or bit by bit?' 'It doesn't happen all at once,' said the Skin Horse. 'You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.' - The Velveteen Rabbit by Marjory Bianco.

Great walk through! About the bleeding on the cards. I've saved a deck by using a little bit of nail polish remover on a small piece of cotton and cleaning delicately the stains. And it worked great on the hay hause mat cardstock, so I think it will be okay on the blue angel too. But you have to do it very gently & with very little nail polish remover.

Dan May has also done the Gentle Creatures Wisdom Cards, 48 cards with 68 pg guidebook by Arwen Lynch-Poe. The same sweet character types, was published 2021 by U.S. Games. The cards are not oversized, but more regular oracle size. I love them together! My life has been very solitary as well, and sometimes lonely. ❤
