He’s back with his old band Conception now. I wonder when he’ll rejoin Kamelot.

@@RichLunaReacts Khan is over 50 now and (sadly) doesn't quite have the power he once had. The new Conception stuff is really good, but he's much more laid back and subtle in his vocal delivery. I don't think he'll ever rejoin Kamelot full time - maybe a reunion tour someday, but from what I've heard there's some bad blood between he and Thomas Youngblood (guitarist) that'll need to get settled first. Kamelot is doing fine these days with their replacement singer (Tommy Karevik) who's much younger and has some serious muscle and power to his voice. He'll never be Khan (there can be only one) but I think he's what Kamelot needs to continue making the music that's made them so popular.

Fun facts: Kamelot is the idol of Epica's founder Mark Jansen. Epica took their name as a tribute to the same tittled Kamelot album called Epica. Then the keyboardist of Kamelot, Oliver Palotai, is Epica's singer Simone Simons's husband =)

One of the key things of knowing a power metal band is the vocals. They're usually clean and the range of the vocalist is very wide and able to hit very high notes :D
@ForsakenPhoenix4854 жыл бұрын
They are a mix between power and progressive metal. Depends on what song you listen to. They are my favorite band hands down. Change my mind!

Kamelot does power metal the right way. Tight, concise songwriting combined with righteous heaviness. Been a fan of theirs for years. Strange seeing clips with Roy Kahn, though. I've gotten so used to Tommy's vocals. 😁

Hi, TNT! I'm very happy that you found Kamelot, one of my all time favorite bands. I'm following them since 1997. Kamelot originated from Tampa FL, but they are kind of an international band. Their first singer was Mark Vanderbilt, second was Roy Khan (the man, the legend, the God). He left the band in 2010 after suffering a severe burnout. Fortunately he reunited with his first band ( Conception) last year. When Khan joined Kamelot they changed their style from progressive metal to Symphonic power metal. In my opinion Kamelot's greatest albums were created in Khan's era - Karma (2001) Epica (2003) and The Black Halo (2005). The song you've heard is from Karma. The other 2 albums I've mentioned are based on the legend of Faust. Songs I highly recommend you to hear are: Karma, Elizabeth, Center of the Universe, Abandoned, Lost and Damned, March of Mephisto, When the Lights are Down, Memento Mori... (it's simpler just to get this 3 albums and listen to them, lol) The last singer is Tommy Karevik who joined Kamelot in 2012. Also a great singer. For live performances with him (good quality) you better wait till the release of their new live album next year. Tommy is also a lead vocalist of another band called Seventh Wonder.

Hi TNT, when he said it was based on a pop song he was being ironic, Edvard Grieg was a Norwegian classical music composer from over a hundred years ago, this song is based on the theme from this piece of music, drop this into youtube search: Edvard Grieg - Peer Gynt - Suite No. 2, Op. 55 - IV. Solveig's Song

@@IcedDog The Norwegian rock band TNT also used this theme in the guitar solo of their song End Of The Line, drop this into youtube search: TNT Intuition - End Of The Line

Well not ironic exactly, classical music at that time really was the popular music, and the Peer Gynt suite was really broadly popular in particular.

Love Roy Khan so much ❤️ I like Tommy Kärevik, my countryman from 🇸🇪 too, but Roy was the best! Glad he got back to singing in Conception. Would love to see you react to March of Memphisto live at Sweden Rock, 2006 I think it was 🇸🇪🤘

Your reaction video was epic! It was lots of fun. Thanks so much! Kamelot is totally awesome. Check out "Karma", "Center of the Universe", "Wander", "March of Mephisto", "Edge of Paradise (live 2006, it was real fun, I must say) - that's just for the start. I found out about them approximately teo years ago and can't imagine my life without Roy Khan and Kamelot's style (which is pretty decent without Roy, too). You might also like Roy Khan's current works with his original band 'Conception' ("Waywardly broken", "By the Blues", "Feather moves" from the newest).

Kamelot- Revolution (Live HQ Pro-Shot) is a sick performance featuring their current singer, Tommy Karevik and a cameo by Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz. I love seeing people (especially Americans) react to Kamelot, as I feel they deserve more recognition than they get, especially in the US. They’re one of the best bands power metal has to offer, with a deep catalog of technically precise emotional and energetic songs.

Hey "TNT" greetings from the not so famous 9 Mile just outside of Detroit, MI. may I suggest some of Kamelot's many mellow songs. First "Abandoned" from the same concert. 2nd "Don't you cry" studio version from the album "Karma". 3rd "On the coldest winter night" from the album "Epica" also 4th "Wander" from the same studio album. Even if you don't React to any of these songs...You'll thank Me after you give them all a good listoning to. TRUST ME!!! P.S. YOU ROCK!!!
