You can hear a rounder clarity with the 102. Both sound great!

🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, I'm glad you're showing the differences! The TLM 102 indeed has a richer, fuller sound with a more balanced frequency response, which makes it ideal for studio recordings. The KMS 105, on the other hand, is designed for live performances, where its primary focus is on clarity and feedback rejection rather than capturing that deep bass. The TLM 102's larger diaphragm helps capture more of the low-end frequencies, giving it that warmth that really shines in a controlled environment.

Классный формат видео! И вроде нарядно, еще и познавательно)) Опять же, через динамика компьютера понравился больше 105. Как-то сочнее и приятнее звук у него.

Thank you so fucking much for this. The 105 seems amazing for full, balanced vocals IN THE STUDIO. Lot of quality for the buck here.

Exactly the comparison I needed. My basic Focusrite mic picks up lots of street noise, so I'm looking for a good all round vocal and guitar mic with very low sensitivity behind it and too the sides. Looks like the KMS is exactly what I need. Thank you very much.

I have the TLM 102 but to me it sounds sibilant and harsh on vocals but the 105 sound a lot more smoother which I like better on your voice.

I might depend on the room and the reflections in a room. When I record with the TLM102 in my living room compared to the bedroom, this is different. In my living room there are a lot of reflections, which causes harshness in some situations, whereas my bedroom has much less reflections and leads to an overall better performance of the TLM102.

Excellente comparaison et excellente chanteuse 🙂 Une comparaison entre un rode m2 et kms 105 serait cool 🙂

Thanks a lot for this video. You have a wonderful voice. I have the BK for singing on stage and was thinking about getting a mic for my podcast, but most sounds put me off. I think I'm buying a focusrite instead of a mike and take my stage 🎤🎙

Thank for comparing. I have the kms104 since 5 year and I think it was a mistake for home recording. I will switch to the tlm102

Both nice. My preference is the KMS 105. To my ears, warmer, more musical. The 102 is a bit too detailed and slightly sibilant. Either way. Both nice mics. Nice singing as well.

Great video! I honestly didn’t think the KMS performed that bad in a studio environment. It definitely seems like an overall good performer kinda like the Shure Sm58

Very good comparison, you are comparing the best stage mic with the worst studio mic, of course 105 is better👍👍

They're both nicely clear, but the hand-held sounds thin and you need to either get closer (with or without the pop filter) or do some eq. That guitar's got some mud though... But I like the idea of finding ways of using high quality stage mics in home studios. My understanding is that good stage mics have to have good rejection in order to control feedback, and I believe home recordists also need good rejection to reduce room sounds and traffic noise. If we go that route, we'll need to find a way to deal with the presence boost that most stage mics have, maybe by using eq or a foam windshield that cuts high frequencies including upper mids. I believe some stage condensers don't have a presence boost, but I haven't yet used one of that kind...

Potentially, using a stage mic at home can save money - because it can also be used on stage.

Tlm 102 for more aggressive music,105 for smoother, sm7b for even smoother music

If just the guitar, it definitely 102. But with guitar plus vocal - the different in vibe is very audible.. 105 seems better especially for stronger female voice.❤

Great video! Tlm 102 sounds better on guitar, I can hear more vibes on Tlm 102. Not much different on vocals.

That's a fair comparison. Tlm 102 sounds brighter and more sensitivity, in the context of the song, I prefer your voice with the Kms. I believe it can be great for home studio, it will pick up less from the probably bad accustic of the room
