Her pageant story resonates with mine soooo much. That is exactly how I ended up as Miss Canada Petite. I was just looking for a job, pretty fresh from Jamaica and a friend kept pushing me and she even paid the $50 entry fee. I had not a thing, but the relationships filled my wardrobe and so much more. After nationals a judge said to me, you’ve lost all the friendships in this pageant because they understood you’re the only one to beat. I flipped my strategy after that and studied every Miss Jamaica World & Universe, a month later I came out on top. Changed me forever.
