In general it's just harder to relate in anything if the reason for participating in any activity is different. Video Games is an easy example because it's well known but still carries some stigma of being a nerdy or anti-social activity (which isn't as popular or socially acceptable as something as simple as watching TV/Movies/Sports and more women tend to avoid it than men as a result). Someone like me who's been playing them for as long as I can remember and do it just for the joy of it and just happened to get into the competitive side of it that has prize money involved, takes notice of how dismissive people on the outside of the hobby have been UNTIL suddenly there's more potential money involved or a slight increase in mainstream popularity. That means I still can't really relate or talk to them with true enthusiasm about the subject because I'd only be talking about the earnings/superficial portion of it and not the actual fun of playing the game or watching other people play (their eyes glaze over if try to get into that). There's a disconnect due to the reasons they'd care/bring it up in the first place and I'd much rather talk about it with my friends who were into it the same way I was growing up. It's honestly the same with just about anything. There are only certain people I'd actually look forward to talking about a new movie, show, comedy, working out or music because we relate on a different level, whereas others it would just be kind of small-talkish and likely a bit miserable to sit through.

And girls fun is more about relaxing, both physycally and emotionally. Spa is not only about beauty, it's more about self care and pleasure. Clubing? Just want to clarify one thing as a woman. You're very close to women doing everything for men, but men aren't the goal... they're the currency. Women want validation. Women are jealous of women who can attract men, because societally, they're exalted. Men openly show attention to women they're attracted to and validation may be received that way as well.
