It's cool to see that she is a quite open person, like she has a very western way of expressing herself. Seriously, her English is really good. Not once did he have to explain anything in Japanese or ask about language switching. English is not an easy language to learn for people who don't grow up speaking something from the Indo European family, or even do but speak something Romance, Slavic, or Iranic. Considering how horribly most Japanese people speak English even when trying so much as to be nearly incomprehensible, the fact she can have a full speed conversation for a good chunk of an hour is fantastic.
