Anime animators get paid $3-4 an hour. Minimum is $7.60, however they’re allowed to loophole people by hiring all the animators as freelancers despite them working 60-80 hours a week in their studio. They pay them a fixed amount of money to complete the task. This is usually around $1000 but they’re required to produce 10 seconds of animations which is 240 drawings. If You’re a industry veteran maybe you’re able to do 240 drawings in half the time then *congratulation* you now earn $6-8 an hour which is ALMOST minimum wage.

I appreciate Mappa’s animators for the crazy amount of work and stress they go through, but some of the CGI they use can be a little rough to watch. I’m not complaining though! With their lineup and schedule, I understand why they use it, but Demon Slayer wouldn’t be what it is if it wasn’t for Ufotable. The way they blend CGI into their animation is some of the best I’ve personally seen and they manage to do it without working their team to the bone.
