If it were any other studio, I'd probably pass all that gay controversy, for today's world it's nothing special, but when main dev keeps flaunting how "based" and "anti-woke" he is, and then pulls a shit like that it really stinks. I know it's hard to believe, but role playing games are more than talky bits. Look at TRPG: some people enjoy chair RP where they talk in character for hours while other people enjoy making a bunch of character sheets in GURPS to feed them into a meat grinder.

Developer: how do we reset the medieval knight player back to zero for the sequel. Dingbat manager: we’ll start with a siege to show off the mechanics then have the PC and his friend swim naked in bandit country and get robbed during a stealth section. Me: or you could have the castle surrender. Your armor would be taken, you could have a stealth section of the player stealing table scraps and the player’s family is poor from paying his ransom. If you want to be spicy you have the player work with the lord who he surrendered to and get back you original armor.

Also both main villains getting away and Henry not getting his fathers sword back. It's too incomplete of an ending to just ignore in a sequel.

I do not mind the dialogue. I felt there was a bit much flashback and non playing stuff. The longer intro was fine in my opinion. We are being put into a story. I spent way over two hours getting through the tutorial. Poking into how to best grind up my levels. Hell, I probably spent 2 hours trying to level my alchemy. To me at least, having a hint of the experience around living in those times is what appeals about the games. Gameplay is fine, but them talking about life is also a big part of that exploration.

looks dreadful. The dodgy ai voices and accents they may aswell put a voice in that says queue between each dialogue interaction you can really tell one line was recorded by one person or i suspect ai and just mashed with the next bit of dialogue in sequence their tone doesnt fit with whats being said and the combat system is awful. The witcher 3 is hands down better than this in almost every way, gaming is going backwards it wont survive the competency crisis.

I do not expect youtubers to actually try and find out if the mounted melee combat is better compared to the first game, for example you could not attack sides ways precisely because the head automatically moves after 2 seconds forward or if they added lances/polearms while mounted with a couch lance option. But I bet that there are no such improvements, too busy adding reasons to make hans geh.
