It must be expanded to Kharagpur in the west, Burdwan in the north, Bashirhat in the east and much beyond Baruipur in the South.. probably till Canning. And there Should be proper Development. A much bigger and better Airport. Proper connectivity. Wider and Beautiful roads. lots of Greenery. Etc . to name a few. Just my perspective. I know nothing is impossible...

Quite a unique city. You can see some heavy British influence. It's like a mix of Pondicherry and Mumbai. Even so, it could be so much better if it was cleaner and well maintained. It looks neglected almost everywhere, but you can tell there's a magnificent lively city hiding underneath the modernity and filth that's just waiting to be revived. Culture and history wise no problem, but modern times it's a bit disappointing. Also I think Bengal in general gives that good feeling, mainly because of the intelligence & attitude of the people, the political mindset. So yeah, if it was cleaned up it would basically be an "anglicised" Kerala of the East... or slightly less so - a tropical Bangalore.

At present no work is going on, on any infrastructure project in Kolkata, There are potholes and dirt on the roads. The government of West Bengal is just sleeping. W.Bengal needs the right government who focus on development not on dirty politics It is better to accept the reality.
