I imagine there's significant overlap of fans of the Cthulhu Mythos and fans of the SCP Foundation. So if that includes you, let me draw your attention to some immersive, visual SCP art/lore books currently being Kickstarted that you may be interested in checking out: www.kickstarter.com/projects/parabooks/scp-foundation-artbooks-new-paperback-edition I don't know anything about the books beyond what's mentioned in the campaign, so don't consider this any sort of recommendation or endorsement. I just thought they look really cool/promising and happened to share enough similarities with today's book that I figured there would be more than a few folks interested in both.

I play the card game and have read most of the novels. I would say there isn't really a cannon to the Arkham files universe. its more of a collection of characters enemies and events that can be moved around to make different stories. This is the same way most of the games work. you get to choose what character to use in every campaign you play and are free to mix and match. the only thing that doesn't change is who the character is and why they do what they do
