But, Suge Knight didn't bail him out, it was Interscope. And, he never actually signed with Death Row Records - he was still an Interscope artist. The whole Death Row thing was for appearances, both for Interscope and for Tupac for different reasons.

"Do you think 2Pac joining Deathrow was his downfall"? With all due respect, that's a shallow question. Show me where 2Pac had a "downfall", even 27 years after his death he continues to rise. That man has been dead longer than he lived but he continues to be popular arguably because of those final months he stayed on Deathrow. He worked the hardest he ever worked in his life while on Deathrow records and that's what cemented his music legacy. Signing with deathrow wasn't a mistake nor a downfall. It was fate

Regardless of what the literal definition is, by "downfall" he obviously meant "demise" so just stop. No one is questioning Tupac's legacy so who are you arguing with? The air? Tupac went to performing arts school but was killed like he was from the streets. The question is valid.

Almost 3 decades of learning what kind of man Tupac was outside the fame, I've seen all of it and that's some of the truest things I've heard. Most people don't get it, the fame, iconic status, legacy, and so on isn't what it's about. People don't get it. What kind of person he was, his compassion, intelligence, charisma, voice, talent, sense of awareness, and more is what separates him from others, he has all the tools to change things in a way kings and presidents are unable to. He had the people behind him. He understood that to change you can't just turn right where you usually turn left, true change occurs after your perspective of the road is altered. That kind of change is no longer possible. He was more than just a rapper or actor. He was different.

"My only fear of death is coming back to this bih reincarnated." Tupac. He probably was throwing in the towel himself & his Mama knew it... you gotta remember Tupac was facing a lot of prison time if he pulled through. There were so many parole violations from that Vegas episode alone and he would have spent most of the rest of his life in the criminal justice system. Not forgetting he was facing an all-out gang war for his actions against Orlando (something was bound to give). As morbid as it may sound... Afeni made a rather considerable judgement call & Tupac would have appreciated that call. 🕊

Deathrow gave 2pac 24 hour access to a studio, which gave 2pac the opportunity to create a bunch of music before his death. Deathrow made it possible for 2pac to put out platinum hits such as California Love. Deathrow was the reason 2pac became more gangster in his music. Without Deathrow, 2pac wouldn’t have become the legend he became. He wouldn’t have had so much mystery surrounding his death.

Remember in 94 there was an attempted assassination on Tupac. This was prior to signing with Death Row Records which via paperwork he never really was. He was still signed to Interscope. Suge Knight explains this in his podcast. Gobi friendship with 2Pac was simply work related it's not like his friendship with Frank Alexander one of the bodyguards assigned to Tupac. Also it was inevitable 2Pac was going to somehow associate with Death Row Records because they are a West Coast label and the biggest at that time in Hip Hop overall. Plus they were part of the Above The Rim OST. Which 2Pac was in that film as you know. Somethings are inevitable. It was Keisha his ex wife that helped the deal happen. He was happy to sign to the label. So much so he shouted them out in most songs. That don't sound like an angry person. Especially when we know 2Pac was never afraid to speak his mind especially when angry.

@@TheAlkebulanTrust No one can attest to the true nature of someone friendship. Let alone there true intentions. That's psychology 101! 2pac wanted out of prison and rightfully so. Prison is designed to break you emotionally, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. So pac would have signed a deal with the devil. Deathrow was not the right environment for pac as it fed his agenda of revenge retaliation and get back. He needed a wise individual to guide him through this transition and speak logically with a level of intelligence that he could understand. But yes to me Deathrow was his downfall .

Suge knew Snoop Album Doggfather was not gonna lift deathrow up! So he put a hold on that album and made a better decision on getting Tupac!💯 Just imagine if Dogg Father would've dropped and not All eyes on me!🤔 DEATHROW would've been headed down hill.

Gobi is both right & wrong about Pac's bail. The money used was a loan against his future royalties, however Suge only put up 1/3 of it (about $467,000). The other 2/3 ($934,000) came from Atlantic & Interscope Records equally. As such, when AEOM went platinum, all monies that were owed, were completely recouped in full. Pac was definitely unhappy. He wanted off of the label because he was being robbed. SIMPLE

Then look into Wendy Day's commentary on Pac leaving Death Row. Then C-Bo. Then his Aunt Glo & Yaasmyn Fula. Both of them handled his day to day scheduling & business affairs while on Death Row. I dont understand how can people belive Gobi about anything Tupac related. He was just a boyfriend and asistent to a female who produced some Pac videos. I dont understand how its logical to think that Tupac would tell this guy his top secrets. I just dont. What were Gobi's accomplishments before and after Tupac ... beside telling Tupac stories?
