Thanks, I have learned so much from your videos! And I love how you do it all with minimal equipment. Thanks to you, I am hand-spinning some yarn for the first time. Having a lot of fun doing it too.

I can't even begin to thank u enuf 4 this video..I bought a drop spindle months ago thinking there would be all kinds of info on how to do this,but sadly I was very wrong...Been looking online /& on yt several occasions since I bought the spindle,but unable 2 find what I was looking 4 like how you are doing this (so I guess it must've been due 2 how I worded my search that I couldnt find anything about making bulky yarn out of pre-existing yarn)...I am currently trying to make my own yarn out of silk scarves,T-shirts/any other old clothes that I think would be good materials to try making into yarn. I hope I can find a way(or another tutorial to show me how) to use the spindle w/the thinner strips I will try to make 4 turning into yarn..Also have been considering trying to do this w/strands of very fine yarn harvested from sweaters & tops that are no longer getting worn. I can't use them unless they are made into thicker heavier wt.yarn,so hopefully this will work 4 that too! Sorry bout the long comment,& thanks again. I really appreciate your time spent making this video!

When I have one single run out way before the other I find the end of the long single and spit splice it to the end of the short single and continue plying it against itself until it runs out.

Are both of the separate ones already soaked in water and set or do you do the set for all after the ply(AKA do you set it twice?)?

Do I need to set the twist of my singles in hot water before plying them? Or can I immediately ply after spinning, and then set them together?
@mimiskidmore8 жыл бұрын
