I’m a contractor in Chicago and put Ground Rules in a building for flooring. He then went to the building and me and my team cut out three of these pieces for him. Glad we could be apart of it.

The wooden board found in the "Freedom Of Assembly" piece is called pegboard.

The curtain of tar seen in the painting component of the "Hierarchy" piece evokes the lava flow of a thermal vent-style volcano (think Mt. Kilauea in Hawaii).

Those tie-downs featured in the "Shrug" piece are called ratchet straps.

For over 50 years I have followed the art world and its sometimes odd creations that somehow stirred us. I must say that this is the very first time that the absurdity and the equally daft commentary makes it clear that the art world struggles to find a new place, a new popular. Maybe if the commentator spent a day roofing or laying a road he would understand its not quite a smell you'd want in a public space or at home.

The host sure has to pile in the artspeak to give value to the sometimes ordinary art pieces.
@annbritton16696 жыл бұрын
I'd hardly call them ordinary, it looks like someone is putting the two fingers up to the art world but they don't get it.

Brilliant but only if it is a perspective of failed art depicting a failed scenario; History is part of culture, what we have here is a failure of culture. Art does not “Fail” but it has become so mundane that only the mundane is able to grow.

I found myself wishing the narrator would STFU and let the art talk for itself, mainly because I think he misses the point of almost every piece. I loved the bitumen paintings and Ground Rules.
