I bought this on my phone a couple months back and I absolutely love it. It's so cheap for android for what it offers, looking at real time transits to my natal chart on my phone in a couple seconds work is amazing. I've been spending many hours on this. I also love the visual design of it, it's so clean and clear which planet is where.

Great review. I love this app. I highly recommend it and agree it's very much worth the money to buy it. It's the only app I use regularly. It's very high quality. I am a beginner and poor as shit and can't afford the big proper software but this is all I need and it has taught me so much and I can practise all the things I'm learning from books and online and see how things work when I can move the chart forward and back , I love it so much. I love to look up things I read about for example the lunar eclipse tomorrow 28/7/18 at 4 degrees Leo/Aquarius and look at the transits and so on its so cool! Also if there are any other beginners watching it also will bring up little cheat sheets like little notes as to what different transits and natal positions mean to help you remember and give you clues Etc which I find helpful as there's so much to remember with so many combination possibilities. Same with synastry too.

Thank you for a great review Chris! Appreciate showing the features. I've always liked the look of it, seems easier to read / grasp at a glance than some other charts... Have a few questions. Do you know if one have to buy the app twice in case one device is ipad and another is android phone? Or there is a way to do it once? Judging by reviews in PlayStore it has a lot of crashes on the Android version and charts are not saved (they disappear). Have you noticed anything like that? People are also saying that apple version is better. Another question is whether it allows to adjust the orbs? For natal charts and transits, progressions, solar arcs etc. And is there solar return charts? I assume it would not have something like travel maps and relocation charts.

Hi Chris! Love your podcast. I do have a question regarding Astro Gold. When I look at my chart transits , the chart itself says Saturns in the second house but then when you go to the report, the report says it’s in a completely different house. Can you help me understand which is more accurate?

Chris I appreciate this so much! I downloaded the app and still have a few questions. Like, I ordered a natal chart and predictive report for a friend but when I got the report i didn't get a transit chart to go with it. They just sent me the natal chart again. Is that curious? Also when inputting info under the Home and Atlas section, am I simply using my current location, or am I using the location for the person I'm reading the chart for? Thank you again Chris

No, it does not need an internet connection to run, you just install it and then it runs as a program on your phone even without a connection. This has been handy for me a few times when I was traveling and didn't have a signal.

When I add a birth chart to the app, how can I continue to see only the transit chart when I need to look? Thanks! I haven't messed with the wheel design too much in Astro Gold yet, partially just because I'm kind of ok with the default design, or at least I've gotten used to it. You might be able to get it somewhat close to the Hellenistic layout, but the design tools are not as robust as in Solar Fire. I've been experimenting with different pieces of software for doing live streams in order to do these split screen videos lately. The last set of horoscope videos I did was done using a free program called Open Broadcaster Software or OBS, and with this video I tried another program called vMix. A large part of the purpose of this video was basically just to test out doing the split screen on the vMix software in preparation for doing the next round of horoscope videos, and to see if I could get the camera and the iPad to work together properly.

btw, which software do you use to record / edit the split screen like that? it is fun how you also showed the chart screen moving (as I assume some people use screenshots (still) vs videos and edit them together later. I am looking for some way to do it all at once so that even at a live class (not only astrology, whatever it is), one can show the person and the screen.

I use Solar Fire as my only desktop application at this point. I don't think that the iPad app can do profections, no. Usually that is something that I try to do in my head though anyway.

I like this app. for example Last time I went back in time to various dates like my parents birth day and my freinds birthday Alsobwhen Saturn and pluto changed signs last time in my secondary progression and with the bi wheel option I was able to look at the real transits at that time together with my secondary progression chart. It was fascinating . What is also interesting was to check is the time my grandmotherbgot pregnant with my mother because thats when the eggs in my mothers ovarian become genetically determined . I was able to see the fatedness . Very weird feeling, like we have no time at all.

It doesn't quite have as many features as Solar Fire, so it isn't a full replacement, but given how cheap it is I definitely think that it is a program that most macOS users would want to have in terms of doing day to day chart work. I'm not very familiar with what the alternatives are at this point on macOS though, although I know that a few years ago there were not a lot of good options. I hear that the Solar Fire people are working on a macOS version that should be available in a few months though.

They don't seem to update this app because it only works on older devices of IOS. I bought it to have it in my Ipad but failed to open the app. Contacted Apple Support and making a long story short, they helped me out by canceling the purchase and refunding me the money. Sad it didn't work because from Chris' demo it seemed to be a good app.

Ordered the professional version for $250 for my iPad due to your recommendations, I have had difficulties getting it to download anything but the most basic info. I have contacted the company with minimal response. Really disappointed at this point. Gonna try to get this to work and realize mercury is retrograde and square neptune but again, not happy with this app so far.
