The way I have interpreted this is that Napoli gave Osimhen the new contract with much greater wages purely to sell him in the summer. When they realised that they wasn't going to be able to get the release cause that was inserted they began to panic as they had no intention of paying him that type of money throughout the entire contract, hence why they had bought Lukaku as his 'replacement' before he was even sold

You dont understand how release clauses work. Napoli are free to sell him for however much they want. The release clause is purely something for the player's benefit if they want to leave. The problem with the contract was the wage, not the release clause. Chelsea were willing to buy him for a lower price and Napoli were free to accept, but Osimhen was not willing to lower his wage.

I think it’s very simple. Chelsea used the transfer deadline pressure to try and squeeze a lower wage. A bit of an or else you’ll be stuck at Napoli type of approach. He didn’t like it so he rejected them. Yes It was very last minute…. I think it’s ridiculous that Chelsea would do that when they spent so much money on players they don’t need… but then get tough with the one player they do need… it’s just as much their fault that the transfer didn’t go through… Galatasaray are not stupid… They do not have any aspirations to have him in the long-term. Instead they took advantage, of his situation and get the benefit of his services for minimum half a season, possibly a full season…. It’s an interim solution for for Galatasaray, for the player and for Napoli… the player got to reduce his minimum buy out clause down to €70m… Napoli saved on wages and the player won’t leave us a free transfer next season… Galatasaray get a hell of a goal scorer … he will be at a much bigger club latest by the end of next season… and I’m sure he will never look at Chelsea again…

His agent is not good, he should have never signed that new contract he would've had his move had he not done that
@ricardoalvarez70412 күн бұрын
yeah, nobody wanted to pay for the full price of his release clause. So when Napoli reduced the price, more clubs came but then they had to agree to Oshimen's gigantic salary which nobody wanted to pay for. I bet Oshimen at the end probably thought Chelsea would be desperate enough to cover his salary at the end, but they clearly were not. The final loan move was just simply a band-aid for the moment. A huge steal for Galatasary for sure.

I thought their CL season last season was well-executed. They locked Bayern for 70 minutes at a time like I haven't seen anyone else could do and almost overcame the quality difference.

Because he’s more about money instead of playing for a club in a top league. A lot of clubs would love a striker of his capabilities and he said he didn’t want a loan just to end up taking a loan in the Turkish league
@lightian449912 күн бұрын
Nice loan clause demoting him to the Europa League and a league out of top 5 leagues. Lets not forget abysmal referee and pitch standards in Turkey. God forbid football loses a promising striker to an injury due to bad football field

I ‘m glad he is gone , thanks for the scudetto but he is too much drama , people only remember those tik tok video ( I agree tiikitytok should be closed down and I never understood the meaning of those videos) but forget about how he ,for example , got covid because he broke covid restriction and celebrate his birthday with a lot of people
