Love to see it! Just so you know, this is pretty much the last "filler" episode in the...in the entire show, really. I say "filler" because the Cherubs are most likely going to come back eventually (they haven't so far, by the way). After this we get into the good stuff in Helluva Boss! The last four episodes in the season are all pretty important, and all the episodes in season two have been pretty important so far as well!

I know a lot of people hate this episode for being "filler" but I thought it was a lot of fun. I especially love all the disguises in this episode. Like, can we all agree that Moxxie was slaying that woman disguise? Also, I hope C.H.E.R.U.B. comes back sometime in the future. It would be fun see the fallen angels try to get revenge on I.M.P.

The funny thing is if you look in the background of the cherub commercial when the cherub as saying they don’t take money, you see a huge mansion. They live in heaven where all their needs are met, so they don’t need money, unlike the imps who have to struggle for what they have. So it is more about pointing out that them not charging isn’t a reflection of their character, but of their condition, though they play it off as them just being that much better. It’s like someone steals an orange because they are starving and someone who is a billionaire scolds them by saying “I never steal, so you shouldn’t either” completely ignoring the difference in situation.

People say it's filler, but it's not. It's a world building episode. This is the first glimpse of Heaven in the Hazbin/Helluva universe.

The word filler is so useless right now. This isn't adapted material or something, it's one episode out of 15 in a series that doesn't even have a main plot at this point. You could just as easily write Episodes 1 and 3 off as filler, too, by that standard, you know? The only actual plot that's even happened is we established the business and Stolas reconnected with his daughter. Nothing else that's happened so far has actually mattered when it comes to the characters or the overall narrative.

Which was *supposedly* criticizing the exploitation of children, but in doing so basically portrayed children *in* that way it was supposedly criticizing. I love the little detail that, even if it's at a Discount, they still did A LOT of jobs last episode. Surely that had to be a pretty good profit, right? So why is Blitz still acting lie he's broke and desperate going forward? Hard cut to him just blowing up TVs for the hell of it, and it's like "OH.... That's why. Why is it odd? All of the angels vaguely know that you should be a good person, but don’t know the specific rules or why ppl like Adam get to stay and others don’t. Alllso, I think CHERUB is a good example of how ppl in Earth can get an “in” - the CHERUB’s market their services to ppl in heaven and are explicitly offering to help their loved ones still living.

The series take place in the same hell, in the same universe. Hazbin Hotel is about bringing sinners to heaven, i.e. people who have already gone to hell. The cherub wants to protect people from becoming sinners, for example through suicide, and protect them. But they really don't know what exactly causes them to go to hell, so they just try what they can. but it seems their files weren't up to date considering they didn't know about the guy's other activities. Nobody knows what will get you to heaven, but it is relatively certain that murder, fraud, etc. will send you to hell.

Here's something you should know for the next episode, male Imps have white hear with long and / or big horns with half black half white stripes. Female Imps have small or short horns that are black with thin white stripes and black hair. So if you see male or female characters with the opposite traits, that's how you know they are Trans, which is amazing to see how many you can spot in the background, which is cool to see representation for our Trans siblings, best example my wifu comes up next episode love her so damn much

Hm, honestly, when i first learned about C.H.E.R.U.B before this Show officially Started, I thought they were going to be setup as a group of recurring Rivals that I.M.P would occasionally encounter and have to deal with from time to time throughout the Show, So imagine my surprise when the Episode that finally introduced them, ended with them getting banged from Heaven, I was not expecting that. Say, by the way, if you’re interested, there’s a Webcomic that goes into what happened to C.H.E.R.U.B after this Episode, it’s a pretty interesting read and it showcases a pretty likely scenario of what might’ve happened, i have forgotten what it’s called at the moment, but i highly recommend it. Anyway, regardless, i really do hope we get to see C.H.E.R.U.B again, I feel like they still have potential that is worth going into.

Sinenrs forms, (if your not powerful like alastor who can look however he wishes. Sidenote alastor is actually a windigo not a deer :) are meant to br hell/hated by themselves. Examples, nifty hates bugs yet she is one, husk dosent like being cute but he is, angel hates being sexualized vut he is and so he leans into it, and li lipton here likes robots but hated being old and obviously hated pianos so thats why he is how he looks. A lot pf tome their form is surrpunded around their death because none of them liked dying, but sometikes it isent.

Cherubs are the heavenly counterparts of imps. Interestingly, in the lore of Bible, they are the highest angels after the seraphim. The approximate hierarchy of Heaven (not official yet, but based on the information given by the show): 1. God (he clearly exists. Angels do not define ascension, damnation, or redemption of the soul). 2. Elders (Those who exiled Lucifer, although they may be seraphim) 3. Seraphim (Lucifer, Sera, Emily. Their hellish antipodes are the Seven Deadly Sins) 4. Archangels (Adam. Their hellish antipodes are Ars Goetia) 5. Winners (souls who have gone to Heaven) 6. The indigenous inhabitants of Heaven (cherubus)

Theater Kid storytime: back in high school we were doing a production of "Inherit the Wind" and over the stage we had a large sign draped over head painted with bright letters that read "Read Your Bible". When we finally got to the end of the first half of the play, the actor playing Atticus hit his line "I want that sign taken down!" and when he said that, the sign fell... after a short pause, the actor said "Now i want another sign put up, just as big, with just as bright letters that says 'Read your Darwin'. During intermission, me another actor brought out a ladder and played a small scene about deciding to hang the original sign back up for anyone who was paying attention. That was our opening night, our teacher, Ms Boon, was furious, but the cast thought it was a hilarious moment.

The Cherubs would not get a Demon form in hell. Just like how the exorcist angels did not get a Demon form. Mortal Souls get a Sinner Demon form in Hell and a Virtuous Soul form in Heaven. Sinner Demons get a form based on their appearance in life, how they died, their sins, and their personality. Yes, Alastor looks like a Deer because as a serial killer he would bury his victims at a deer hunting ground and one day a hunter mistook his brown hair for a deer and shot him, this is also why he has an x mark on his forehead that he usually keeps under his hair. His radio microphone is also a part of him even though it is not a continuous part of his main body, because he was a radio talkshow host in life. Angel Dust has a spider body because his family when he was alive was a crime family, and it is a pun on the concept of a web of crime. All of Angel Dust's family (which was confirmed to be rather homophobic, leading to them being abusive to Angel Dust) are also in Hell and have spider bodies. The only exception is Angel Dust's sister, Molly, who we see in a very brief cameo in Heaven during the song Welcome to Heaven.

There are many curious theories about this episode and why the Cherubim are trying to save someone as greedy as this old man. In the last episode, Moxxi talked about the importance of developing angelic technology in wars. Heaven may be in a One-Sided Cold War with Hell to get as many scientists and inventors as possible to its side. The Cherubim spent a good part of the episode listing great things that the old miser could do to be considered "great deeds" and "detachment from your sin" to get a chance to go to Heaven. In the song "Welcome to Heaven" you can see in passing an altar encouraging scientists to continue their discoveries even after death. Heaven fears a war against Hell and is doing everything to prepare for it.

I’m not sure about that, I think the answer is the simplest one. Someone hired the cherubs to save the old man. Cherubs could have a “save/help anyone no matter who they are” policy. They created this service to help people and bring the winners comfort and reassurance their loved ones are safe on earth.

Unlike the few demons that are allowed to interact with humans, these cherubs do not have any disguises and it is unlikely that the people being helped will not notice their existence. Basically, they are giving clues to people that there is a Heaven and they need to behave well in life.

Alternate idea: Most angels just want to save people from Hell because it's the lawful good thing to do. And they encourage science and technology because continuing scientific research is just a virtuous endeavor on its own. It gives saved souls a purpose while also allowing them to figure things out to help humans stay happy and comfortable. It's not as exciting of an idea, but it feels way more believable to me that it's all just the 'good' faction doing stereotypically 'good' things.

Thinking about it, S1E4 was like…the most we saw of Vivziepop’s rendition of Heaven in her 2 shows for the better part of 3 years, before Hazbin Hotel proper dropped a couple weeks ago. Cuz I mean, this episode released almost 3 years ago, which was quite a while between then and S1E6 of Hazbin Hotel. The fact that CHERUB have their own group where clients can ask for their “blessings”, and improve their chances of getting into Heaven, gotta wonder if THAT’s how Adam made it into Heaven, but Angel Dust didn’t yet. From what we know, a sinner takes his form with a combination of factors. Basic: The crimes or lifestyle, something striking close to your death (also known as Death Trauma), which could be something related to the cause of death itself or a strong feeling and factors that you didn't like in life about yourself, which could be something physical (your human appearance) or another characteristic that you didn't like. In the latter, some talk about Hunsk becoming a cat because he is a "cute and pet" animal and he doesn't like not being taken seriously as a person by others. I, for example, but I don't see anyone talking about it, think that Alastor is still mainly human and "charming" because that would attract people's attention in an attractive/carnal way, something he definitely doesn't like. And there are people who speculate about his mother being, in words at the time, "colored" and Alastor being "mixed race". If this is true, his straight hair could be the embodiment of his paternal bond, with whom he didn't get along well (to say the least). Angel/Antony is the best example of this mix. His spider form is a representation of his life of crime with his mafia family. He is, for the most part, white, just like the drug that killed him (and which took his name after his death). His pink lines and more effeminate appearance are a direct reference to his more androgynous features that he DIDN'T like in life and was tormented for having them. It must be borne in mind that he died in 1947. Unlike today, he was always belittled and reprimanded for his appearance and any more effeminate characteristics he showed, postponing them in life. More ironically, Angel was able to explore more of his sexuality and began to accept and like his effeminate appearance and preference for cute things after going to Hell.

This episode is more fun than I remember, I recall it being the weakest of season 1, but it's not bad at all, just back to the sillier tone of the first episode. IIRC it's next episode that the focus becomes a lot more plot heavy, which I like a lot better for the show. Five is solid, and everything after that is pretty universally excellent (with one meh exception mid season 2)
