There never was, is now, or ever will be anyone as much a " voice smith" as Cleo

It is funny my voice teacher recommended her. He said she is in Seattle and will only be here for a short time. We talked about scant singing and she came up. I grabbed my mom and Cleo was performing at the Opera House with Gallagher the well known flute player. First time I had heard these two performers. I was 17 and really enjoyed myself and mom did too. Time had passed and I hadn't even thought of her until a few years ago. I remember her singing about a songbird. Couldn't find the song but started listening to her songs. I finally understood now what my voice teacher was trying to show me. Wow what I would give to see her again. Older and wiser now. I am so lucky that I went to see her.

Cleo was one of my father's favorite performers when I was a kid. I didn't like her, back then, but today I recognize her as one of the greatest performers of the 20th century. Incredible talent to go with her beauty!

Probably one of the most underrated female singers of her time. Her tone was more sultry than Ella’s, but her vocal prowess was equal in my opinion.
