With the aerator, you turn the revs down so it’s slower. Go around the perimeter and work your way in so you’re always moving. Going up and back at full revs is the hardest way to use it
@theaussielawn6 күн бұрын
Definitely agree with the revs mate, Good tip with using the unit too mate. Have a good xmas 🎄

i have an commercial one. Their parts are pretty hard to get and very expensive for some reason in Australia. Their bagger’s lid strip (just a rubber strip) is 100aud here and no dealer has them in stock but it was like 5 usd in USA. I end up buying from USA and shipped here myself
@mkii91109 күн бұрын
The pipe is 500aud to replace btw. I had mine replaced due to wood chip damage 😢

Brent, i would love for you to do a review of the Draper 1500w corded Scarifier/aerator .. i bought one about 6 moths ago for my new place down in the Riverina for my mostly buffalo grass... and i love it, it does come with 2 sets of blades, 1 vertical cutter and one spring loaded tines, both work great and are probably ideal for small yards/ home use
@theaussielawn9 күн бұрын
I’ve got a similar unit on the channel soon mate. Oh you have moved from the valley ? Hope the Riverina is treating you.well

I am located in the States and absolutely love your videos! Sadly for us here they don’t offer that toro mower with the roller like he has I have tried many different ways to get one! What brand was the mower you used to scalp the lawn? I am in the market for a new rotary mower and did not know if there was one you might recommend that o can get here in the states! I know you use the reel mower but I figured it does not hurt to ask! Keep up the amazing work!
@theaussielawn6 күн бұрын
I've just had a little look at the toro US website It is definitely available but it comes under their golf range of machines . Link attached below mate www.toro.com/en/golf/specialty-equipment

After some advice. How soon after laying a kikuyu turf could you do a repair like this? My lawn is already so thick and thatchy and only been down 6-8 weeks. Cheers
@theaussielawn8 күн бұрын
Hi mate, good question since its only new turf I would probably have a look at this video I filmed (although this video features tiftuf the info will be relevant for your kikuyu ) Maybe wait till after Xmas though 😜 kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHW6oISPf7Sai9k

Nice video Brendan and co!! Wouldn’t it be easier on the scarifying machine if you scalped first? I know a lot of people do it that way, thanks
@theaussielawn9 күн бұрын
Na the scarifier wasn't even working hard believe it or not. I have done it both ways over the yrs but really this is the quickest way to get through all that grass

I get that mate, Its not everyone's cuppa . there are places where they look outta place in my opinion too. Such as those nice tropical gardens with lawns that sweep around curves and gardens etc

Hi Brendan, that rotary mower you use for scalping, will it go down to dirt or slightly above, say 3 - 4 mm? I tried to scalp with my rotary but it only goes down to about 15mm, I didn’t want to use the cylinder mower as I thought it would blunt the reel or damage the bed knife. What brand is that mower and where did you buy it? Thanks.
@theaussielawn8 күн бұрын
The one in the video is a Bushranger 21' utility mower, I have an after market blade spacer on it to enable to to get down to the 2-3 mm you mention. Good call about not wanting to ruin your cylinder mower with short renovations mowing. You can find them at Valley Outdoors group and if need be they can arrange fright for you

A lot of GREAT information about lawn care. I subscribed and gave a thumbs up. Great job! Hope you get a lot of subscribers and eventually get a lot of followers where you can do a lawn free once a month with money you eventually get from from KZbin. I think at about 100,000 subscribers you start to get a fairly steady income. Best wishes from Canada.
