Thanks for giving our new Shadow Series a roll! When we designed the first zero-torque putter back in 2009 we knew it would be a big deal but fast forward to today and it seems to be the way a lot of brands are moving. So we love that our original technology is still unique to our putters, that is being the only putter with the center of gravity in the center of the striking face, a shaft axis that aligns with the CG in the middle of the club face and our heel counterweight. Cheers!

Sooner rather than later, I hope sooner a brand will find a way to produce a much more affordable zero torque putter. Great video Andy thank you! Axis 1 is $509?
@Snowman9K16 күн бұрын
I played one for a while. I liked it a lot. My only problem was distance control. It felt light, and as if the shaft was super springy, but that might have been a mis-impression on my part. I replaced it with a LAB Mezz.1. It also feels light. I think that the lack of torque reduces the "weight" feel at the hands. Which makes sense. Weight, torque resistance, both would be felt as resistance to accelerating the putter. Take away the torque, it feels lighter. I know people will say it's only a tiny amount of torque. All I can say is try it and see. I definitely make more makeable range putts with the torque free putters.

Heard the same so I ordered the heavy head Mezz Max at 37". Should arrive Saturday. Mezz has very big Toulon shoes to fill. I think an Axis1 Jailbird with a BGT shaft could be amazing.

I have tried this and the LAB, but prefer the weight, feel and alignment set up of the Allan. All are zero-torque in one way or another (different ways of skinning the cat) but I felt that I didn’t have to reinvent my stroke to get great results with the Allan. By the way, keep up the great work. I’ve become a subscriber!

Really enjoying your tips and course highlights videos! Gotta say however, as much as we’d all like a zero torque putter and how putters are probably the most important club in the bag, this new tech is largely ignored because it’s so ridiculously overpriced. Like all the other kit pro shops are hawking at the moment they’ll be outmoded and dissed when next years stuff comes out 😂

Hi Andy. I tried this recently. It sits beautifully but I found the feel/sound was awful. I really wanted to like it but it sounds plasticky when struck. I also agree with a few other comments that say it is quite lightweight. I prefer a heavier putter and have ended up with a Jailbird Cruiser which is fantastic.

I've tried the lab putters at the golf shop but I can't get on with it i HATE the way it looks I know thats my problem. But this one I'd give it a go if it rolls the ball as good as it looks I get it. However It would have to beat my Cobra supernova putter, that putter is the best I've ever used.

I'm so loathe to change a putter. It's the no1 club in the bag, you use a putter more than any other club. Changing a putter is a BIG DEAL.
@sandersson281316 күн бұрын
If clubs lowered handicaps then the average handicaps of golfers would reduce, but they haven't. The average handicaps of golfers has stayed pretty much the same for 50 years. The only way to get a lower handicap is to improve your technique, course management, psychology and focus on short game and putting, but people just aren't willing to do the work because they are either too lazy or talentless.
@TheAverageGolfer16 күн бұрын
How do you explain the shift to this style of putter by tour pros, are they lazy or talentless?
@sandersson281316 күн бұрын
@TheAverageGolfer Not at all. Trends change, and most golfers will chop and change between putters looking for some sort of utopian solution, some STYLES of putter may be more suited to a specific stroke type, or some faces and face angles might be suited to certain putting surface types, but bit the idea that a specific make and model of putter WILL lower the scores of everyone is a fallacious claim. Is every pro using this putter? No. One man's meat is another man's poison and what might work for you, may not work for the next man. If such clubs did what manufacturers claim in their marketing then we would be hitting drivers 500 yards and holing 90% of putts, but we don't and before long we have removed these clubs from our bags and replaced it with the next magic panacea in the hope of fulfilling yet another false promise. There is no substitute for practice in conjunction with identifying the TYPE of club which suits your swing/stroke. It's simply too simplistic to claim that ANY club will shave strokes off EVERYONE'S handicap because it won't. I don't think that is a controversial or unreasonable position to hold.
@TheAverageGolfer15 күн бұрын
@@sandersson2813 no one suggested controversial, I think you make very valid points but this is a trend that will continue on an upward curve moving forward, you will see this concept from all brands. I would ask have you tried this style or is your opinion just that and not based on experience?
@sandersson281315 күн бұрын
@TheAverageGolfer I think my point was that im just a bit tired of this sort of "clickbait" style title to making videos and in long time golfers it probably doesn't do much more than illicit yet another eye roll. I've been playing golf long enough to have seen so many of these types of trends come and go with the same sort of promises attached, and a lot of the time I bought into it, only to realise short term gain and the same real lack of progress in general. Ultimately the only way to cut your handicap (and to maintain that cut) is to work hard, get lessons, change mindset, develop course management for the situation and practice, practice, practice etc. Of course having the best tools for your ability, swing etc are going to help, but they're no substitute for putting in the graft. It took me 15 years, but I went from 7 to +2 in that time, sadly up to 1 now, but I can honestly say that any reduction in handicap had next to nothing to do with a specific type/brand/model of any club in my bag and was by and large a product of all the work I put in. Not saying I could have done it with clubs from the 1980's, but you get my point.
