Have you been to Wheatley before? If not, is it on your list for future camping? We would definitely go back 👍

That's good to hear. We live very near the Wheatley Provincial Park, we go for walks there all the time. In 2019 the road to the day use area washed away due to erosion, there used to be 3 pavilions and a playground back there.

Such a charming spot for a weekend getaway! The footbridge to the beach is a delightful touch. And yes, the fish and chips are worth every penny!

Great place to spend a weekend. I love the footbridge over to the beach. Fish and chips is always good. Just bring cash... The beach is nice, just walk to the end, as you say!

This was such a nice campground. Of course I loved that you were able to get to a drink tasting. And the waterfront was pretty nice and relaxing. Also loving that you are in a new camper!

Beautiful park, so serene and green. The camping sight has all the facilities. It reminds us of Yedigoller in Turkiye specially lake side

A Nice looking camping set up. The waterfront sites are nice. Love the wooden bridge. Great trails throughout the campground. Have you ever done a video that you weren't able to find a brewery? The sandwiches looked good. Honestly this is one my more favorite videos of you guys. Two breweries, a winery and a couple of food spots. Now you're speaking my language.
@TheAverageTourist3 ай бұрын
Haha, yes, we have had a few campgrounds where we didn't go to a brewery because it was too far to justify the distance. Sometimes we just camp and relax. But often, we don't film those weekends especially if we've already been to the park.

‘Private beach’ is the best! Looks like a really nice spot. Too bad you didn’t get into the kayaks - you would think they would have a launch area.

wow a cash only establishment??? I didnt know they existed anymore! Here you are way more likely to find places that DONT take cash which is just crazy! hate to disagree with you on the beach but.... that's not a seven or eight!!! I have never heard of deer flies by the way, more info needed lol! But horse flies yes! all in though the place looks really nice and visitors seem to have a lot of handy things available which is great. im guessing it was super hot and humid.

What is your small metal folding side table that you have at your campsite ? Been looking for one like that. Thanks for the review.

We got it at Canadian Tire, it's a Woods table: www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/woods-larkspur-portable-folding-lightweight-aluminium-steel-camping-table-0765542p.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw8rW2BhAgEiwAoRO5rHyxoLZRyHfASkM2hfz1aRa1BS06XrYprqUvopjeHxZbMQ5crGAnSRoCAj4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#store=600

I went here in 2022 I had a waterfront site in the first campground by gate house .. the bathroom in that campground the showers were normal and had a full wall for separation. Their was a second foot bridge in the first campground also that had been removed at some point u can see it on Google maps and see some of the left over supports. We heard non stop fish jumping at our water front site, we also seen alot of fireflys in the evening in the day use area. So about the day use area .. their actual was two roads into the day use area the first road u can see on Google maps use to go out much further and it was swallowed by lake Erie so they replaced it with a road more inland and that is the new road that is no taking by lake Erie so they actual have lost two different roads in 20 to 30 years we went to point pelee the one day and we stopped at tim hortons in Leamington and all the building were covered in these bugs it looked like a hitchhock movie I guess they were fish flies and is a sign of clean water but they come out in millions and cover everything the next day we went back and they were all gone but we drove to king city and they were covered in bugs it was one of the craziest sights iv ever seen. Very glad u went to the fish and chip truck .. we went there and loved it and the couple down the street from us who do ontario parks review they also went their and everyone who does say they love it !! The beach is nice at Wheatley when we went tho the whole day use area was over grown but the beach was super nice. I enjoyed my stay here so much I'm taking my new dog here in September. I'm pretty sure dogs are allowed on all the beach since it's not officially a active day use area anymore Loved the video and keep up the great work!!

Thanks so much! We really enjoyed the park and the area. I didn't realize just how much erosion Lake Erie has caused until we got there and saw it for ourselves. I bet back in the day the day use area was quite a popular place because the beach areas we found later in our stay was quite nice and I really enjoyed swimming there. Next time we'd like to go to Point Pelee - but we will try to avoid going when there are fish flies around the nearby cities! That does sound like a movie. Enjoy your time there in September!
@puffysnow85043 ай бұрын
@TheAverageTourist I really enjoyed the park too .. I seen a video in 2020 around the time that road got washed away and that sparked my interest to go see it first hand. I told my partner when we went and were standing where the road had been washed not far from their Is the lake thst seprates the beach and the campground and soon that washed road will be washed to that lake and they probably will be joined. I seen video or pictures of what the day use area once looked like and it did look nice. Point pelee was fun, thst is a big reason we are going back. Iv been back tracking this year and taking our new dog to some of my favorite campgrounds to re do it with him, and the trails at point pelee big reason we are going back a heads up for your husband if u go on certain days their is a shuttle that takes you down to the tip other days u have to walk on the close road which was peaceful and certain times of the year I believe u can drive to the point. We had to walk and it was a 1.5 walk there and back since uv said he has a bad leg. The fish flies didn't bother us they just were attach to buildings and outdoor atms and the next day they were dead but at point pelee the one side of the park had non and all the way to Wheatley had non but once u went onto the other side of pelee the beach and water had tons of them floating and dead in them so they were from the one side of Leamington down towards Windsor, we found them in king city also but non like I said on our side. They did smell a little but other then that they left u alone. This was canada day week we were down on this trip with the fish flies.
