👍😃...since there are 3 ASEAN countries owning each part the Borneo island (Brunei, East Malaysia, Kalimantan Indonesia)...in my lifetime, i hope i can see these ASEAN countries work together to build combination of undersea tunnels and bridges connecting their small islands in the sea that will connect Singapore and Peninsular Malaysia with Borneo island. 👍😃 Borneo is really isolated since the planning of the construction of Nusantara City the new Indonesian capital city for administration. 👍😃

@@Danger_mouserubbish. Train line requirements in a region of 5 million in 13 years doesn’t compare to road requirements. It’s not about saving time on a train. It’s about getting more trains we currently have a maximum of 24/hour from ALL lines into the city. Major bottleneck!

@@sharedknowledge6640I mean, I'd hope so... Seattle is a major hub, particularly with IT and video game developers (and the cost of living reflects this). It's also along an important corridor (Seattle/Portland/San Fran/LA/San Diego) and is along the west coast, which gets a lot of America's overseas trade. Brisbane, on the other hand, is sorta like Nashville, Indianapolis, maybe Austin. It's not as big as Sydney or Melbourne, but it's growing from the position Melbourne used to be in a few decades ago. The fact any large development is being done in Brisbane is, quite frankly, a feat. Especially something to do with public transport (absolutely has that in common with Austin and most of Texas... Very car-centric)

Brisbane City is the largest city in Australia by land area. We're (slowly but surely) doing well to build up our outer suburban hubs by allowing further density in those areas and improving mobility through public transport connectivity.The main northern hub is the suburb of Chermside (mostly known for its large Westfield shopping centre and apartments). The main southern hub is Mount Gravatt (mostly known for its large Westfield as well, previously called Garden City, they also have units/density near the centre)

The 1992 Summer Olympics of Barcelona are said to be an example of a city actually profiting from the Games. The organisers’ 900 million euro investment generated a direct 7 billion euro boost to the region and wider economic benefits exceeding 18.6 billion euro, according to an independent estimate. All 15 purpose-built venues remain in use today, as do 94 per cent of all permanent venues used at the Games. With the global exposure as the catalyst, it transformed the then relatively unknown city into a metropolitan world city confidentially listed as one of Europe's top destinations. Many have tried but failed to recreate Barcelona's success. Let's see if Brisbane can do it.

Got lots of potential. Greenies are locking up prime real estate and letting the swamp creatures breed.. Boondall wetlands look it up has the potential to be a great canal estate with access to rail infrastructure. Instead the land is wasted and a mosquito breeding infested swampland .

As an Aussie and a survivor in Melbourne, Brisbane is probably the second best city in Australia, after Sydney. It's fun, exciting, interesting and warm even in winter. This is so great for the city, the investment going on there to make it even better is long over due. Having visited many, many times its fantastic that there is a train from the Airport into the city, in Melby you have to take a bus... One thing that I hope they do, is better integrate transport from the CBD into the middle of the Gold Coast. I love the GLink tram, but to take the train to and then the tram from Helensvale does take quite a while. A high speed, direct link would be the icing on the cake.

As a long term (50 plus years) Brisbane resident this project should have been started years ago and already completed but changes in government caused an entire rethink that wasted way too much time (an issue with multiple local infrastructure projects) And then there is the political fighting over cost overruns which were bound to happen in the current global economic conditions but many want the minister involved sacked But at least the damn thing is finally being built and public transport gets some decent upgrades Now if only a previous government hadn’t bought the cheapest trains that recently needed a hundred million or so to upgrade them to be truly usable And that’s the local angle on this project :)

When the Brisbane Premier boasted about Albert St station being the first new station in 120 years for Brisbane CBD, I thought that should be their shameful reality check about the gross lack of investment in public transportation over the years, rather than be boasting about it!

@@CommentsTrollJust to clarify, do you mean the Premier or the Lord Mayor? You said Brisbane so I'm going to guess the Lord Mayor, as I'm not sure I recall Premier Palaszczuk saying anything of the like. Agreed though, no one should be boasting about how Brisbane has needed this development for more than a century and is only just now delivering it. It does go to show how good choice of wording and emphasis is used liberally in politics, as it can be made to sound like a positive (as would have been the intention).

Questions about the mezzanine: Is it the whole length? Is it thus an alternative to the trains? Will bicycles be allowed as well as pedestrians? Will there be a charge to access the mezzanine?
@KhanPiesseONE
@KhanPiesseONE Жыл бұрын
The mezzanine is only for station caverns. The train tunnels connecting the stations, will only have enough room for trains, they are quite narrow tunnels. To access the mezzanines at train stations, you may need to tap on with a Go card or with a debit card, but you could tap off when you leave and not be charged.

Being from Brisbane, I really have to cringe that the stock footage of the Bowen Hills Spaghetti Junction features so many times in the video! Impressive technology! esp. that box girder technology is also applied in underground construction. These projects usually hava a greater impact because it helps save the environment through less car dependency, cleaner air and less car lanes and more efficient land use. Investing in long term public transportation projects is not a waste of money but worth every cent. I hope you feature Philippines North South Commuter Rail (NSCR) in the near future.
