It certainly is in vanilla MW5. You can’t swap gyros and only get a small increase to torso twist speed as an upgrade with the DLC.

There's an easy way to automatically account for the delay. Use Chainfire, it fires at the .5 second delay interval for laser. Set each heavy to 1 and 2, and each pulse to 1 and 2, set both to have chainfire, then boom. Click both fire buttons simultaneously and it'll fire both heavies, then .5 seconds later both pulses.

...but would it fire the pulses before the heavies have finished their burn? That's in essence what The B33f is doing here, he's starting the Alpha Strike with the long duration heavies, then finishing with the short duration Pulses, so both lasers are technically still firing at the same time, but without the ghost heat. If the chain fire just accounts the .5 delay from the start of the burn, then awesome! That would work! If the delay isn't counted until after the full laser duration, then it would not work as well at all. You'd end up face-tanking for a long time waiting for your pulses to fire.

You could firecontrol if you need fine tuning on timings. It fires whatever you want whenever you want, as long as you can rely on set times... so it's up to you to make it work IMO. Just like you could set AC2 for chainfire for the nice chainsaw effect : 1, 2, 3, 4, loop...

Awesome! The interesting thing about the pinpoint damage isn't that you don't get a very high damage score at the end, but the lack of damage put out by the opposing mechs because they are removed so quickly.

thats pretty awesome! beast of a mech. tho I fell in love with the 4x Heavy Med and 4x ER Large , firing 2 er large and 4 heavy meds in close then follow up with the other 2 er large. good on open maps and close ones alike. and yes 2x cool shots of course. I got my 2nd highest dmg in that thing, 1400 something.

I'm not a fan of Alpha-Strike mania either but...are you folks that surprised? You did his Direstar video,yes? If the game made it so your first alpha strike made your pilot explode, B33f would find a way to put 30 PPCs on a Locust and try to nuke you at the same time.

The difference is that here we have different weapons with different durations being synced up so the end (roughly) at the same time and avoid ghost heat. Direstar is basically the complete opposite of this (same weapons, all the ghost heat).

I have a 4 heavy large laser and 4 heavy medium laser super nova with only heat sinks after that and full heat management skills and I can handle the heat very well when group firing

I own all Hellbringer variants and I can approve that Hellbringers are slightly effective with lasers. But you have to take care because HBRs are still a bit weak in firefights.

I run a build very much like this on a TBR with an 84 point "alpha", though obviously the effective range is a bit lower. Sīlis extra heat buildup that is not shown on the stats screen in the garage from firing too many weapons of the same type. more than 6 er medium or 4 srm for instance

ghost heat is extra heat for firing more than an allowed number of weapons. This is more than the stated amount in the specs for the weapon.

When equipping a mech, the triangle above your right torso will tell you any potential issues (no/ useless ammo, not enough heatsinks, etc.). And while it does not show you the limitations for ghost heat in advance, it wil ltell you the moment you go too far. So it's either try, or google :D Ghost heat is, in itself, heat, that comes "out of nowhere" an serves as a mechanic to regulate true alpha strikes (meaning: firing every single weapon at once, without delay). To avoid that, you have to fire all affected weapon(type)s with a 0.5 second delay.

I use 2 and 3 for primary "left and right" weapon groups while 1 is my off-hand button often used for missiles or chainfire, and 6 is the misc one. Buuut I'm not really a youtuber so not sure if I count. xD

he's using the c chassis so the large lasers are high torso mounted. The other varients put your lasers into the arms forcing you to expose most of the chassis.

Oh goody, welcome to even more alpha warrior online. I would love to see PGI put a penalty for using the alpha strike. Like simulate cockpit heat by having your pilot black out and possible fry themselves to death. After all they don't wear cooling vests for no reason so it'll be lore friendly.
