From the look of it, this is the best kind of music, the band, the soloists and the conductor are having as much, if not more, fun than the Audience.

Every thing is good. I'm Australian, 50 years of age + . I support the Monarchy. Long reign King Charles III. Royal Marines band; great music. Holst and all the "traditional" music. Well; Jerusalem, Church of England Hymns. It all sounds good and soothing!

I have said it before and I will keep saying it, simply the best Military Band in the world, it was always a pleasure and privilege to listen to them when serving in the RN, simply superb musicians and now vocalists (didn’t have many of them in my service days). BZ “Royals”. P.S., yes, the Sax was special as was the Rocketman vocalist.

Told somebody how I've played sax for 20 years now and they asked me who my favourite sax player was... I said they won't know them, but Gordon Carter who plays in the Royal Marines Band Service! Love all his performances from previous years and this was the first time I've attended live... So emotive, absolutely love it!

@geoffreymartin2764 In fact, they are Royal Marines - not to be confused with plain Marines. The female Corporal is wearing an Operational Service Medal that shows she has been deployed on Operations - all RM Musicians have secondary Operational Roles as Medics, Drivers, Communications and other combat support roles; so they are exceptional people.🇬🇧
@mtnairpilotАй бұрын
@@BrianGouldenI didn’t know that. The US Marine Band a/k/a The President’s Own are essentially professional musicians who audition and are enlisted directly into the band, usually as an E4 initially. Their service contract states that they will only be stationed at the Marine Barracks in Washington DC.

Hi Ron, I think those who serve in the RM Band Service know just how good they are collectively and being a Military Service who are trained to undertake their other Operational roles, Medical Cas-Evac/ NBCD Contam-Unit Operators or as Military Aid to Civil Power, they probably don't welcome any "celebrity" status. Individual names do actually come up at times. Collectively, they probably judge each other on their Operational duties we don't see them perform.

In order of appearance. Band Colour Sergeant Gordon Carter (Royal Marines Band Service Production Team) Band Corporal Brian Lloyd (Band of HM Royal Marines Collingwood) Band Corporal Samantha McIndoe (Band of HM Royal Marines Portsmouth) Band Lance Corporal Kirsty Haines (Band of HM Royal Marines Commando Training Centre) Conductor is Captain Sam Hairsine (Director of Music - Band of HM Royal Marines Collingwood) The Massed Band this year is composed mainly of Bands of HM Royal Marines Plymouth, Scotland & Collingwood with some elements from Bands of HM Royal Marines Portsmouth, Commando Training Centre & Royal Marines School of Music too.

During the transit to The Falklands in 1982, between their combat training sessions, the embarked RM Band kept up the morale of the fighting troops with their music. I don't think the musicians would deploy without their instruments - they know the value of music as a morale booster. They are a damned fine group of men and women - always professional and brave when the occasion demands. Simply The Best 👌
