i think the weird ending to i didn’t change my number is meant to represent phones ringing and her seemingly ignoring them!
@junisantiago23933 жыл бұрын
wait I’ve never thought of that it might just be distorted ringing
@feliciatayyy3 жыл бұрын
Omg it does sound like she put her phone on silent mode!! And it's just vibrating there and she couldn't care less
@nomadine853 жыл бұрын
Ohh I love that! I just went straight to production mode and wondered whether it’s an instrumental used distortion of their dogs. I also saw someone say that it feels and sounds like that action of saying get the f out of my face which I can honestly picture so well with that sound. But I love that idea! Ringing sounds she’s just ignoring. That’s perfect conceptually!

“Whoever put the track list together” it’s always just Finneas and Billie. They have the track list in his basement studio and shift things around and will rewrite songs they already submitted in order to make it fit cohesively with the entire project. The genius levels are just…
@horsehollerer3 жыл бұрын
Amazing reaction guys! I think there's a FOURTH interpretation of "Overheated." I think it's specifically about the paparazzi photo of her in the tank top that was used to shame her. Whenever she has talked about it, she recalls how it was a very hot day and she was melting getting into/out of her car. I think all four interpretations are correct.
@horsehollerer3 жыл бұрын
PS Male Fantasy is the best song. This happens about 5 plays in. Cheers.
@laurenn.barber3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I think this theory gets further proved with the line, “ and everybody said it was a letdown” kind of explaining how when the photo came out people were disappointed for whatever reason about her wearing the tank top, mostly because her image is baggy clothes.

I think the most poignant underlying themes of the album were fame and misogyny, but more specifically, taking back power in those contexts. So cohesive, so diverse, so recognisably their style, so experimental, so honest, so poignant, so beautiful, so empowering, so vulnerable. There are so many more. It blows my mind how a project can be all of these things at the same time. And have been written, performed and produced by only two people, in their home.

Exactly! And I had seen someone mention how the song reminds them of Justin Timberlake's "Sexyback." Like this just open and honest sensuality on the darker more intense side that most view as super private and taboo to mention. Idk I fucking love it. I've always thought it would be a great song in the club too. Which who had "perfect for the club" on Billie's music bingo? Not me. 🤣

I really appreciate that you guys caught the implications of Billie ending the album with Male Fantasy, particularly the last line of it, in context with its coming right after Happier Than Ever. It is such a gut punch, and it seems like it's pretty rare for people to comment on that aspect in reaction videos
@Leakampff Жыл бұрын
God this album is so good. The ending really strikes home everything its about, its the pain of a "healed" person. She's done the therapy, she's grown up, she's mature and knows HOW she should feel, she knows what the feelings mean, and yet she's still just feeling them and expressing it. DAMN i come back to theae videos all the time to get new vibes from the albums.

Overheated is about the time when paparazzi were harassing her while she was in a tank top trying to get into her brothers house in like 110 degrees F. They were calling her ugly, fat, and other awful things, and obviously when it got posted on the internet the trolls went after her as well. She sings about how her body is like everyone else's and she isn't going to get a surgery (like other celebs) to help out. Obviously there are other meanings sprinkled in, but that was the main thing about the opinions of her body. Beautiful song. Y'all are so insightful too about the other lyrics. Thank you for the videoooo

I so appreciate you really listening to the songs, and dissecting and putting your interpretation and spin on them. Loved your reaction!
