Tubbys is the king yes, but you cannot forget that Scientist was the main engineer who mixed most of the tracks that came out of Tubby's studio and just wasn't credited for it after Tubby passed. Either way, both some seriously talented dudes!

That's not true Tubby is the King because he was the originator and taught Scientist and Jammy. In the early to mid 70's it was all Tubby. Later on after Tubby took a back step it was Jammy and Scientist. I'm not saying Scientist has not had a raw deal but your comment is just wrong.

@@anraio11oleary35 Anraio, with all due respect, my comment isn't wrong!! I agreed Tubby was king but merely said not to forget that scientist was the main ENGINEER for most of Tubby's tracks. Weather balloon was really the last of Tubby's actual mixing, but other tracks were still his production and under his direction. Tubby was the top producer, Scientist was the top engineer. I know this not from what i read, but from direct sources.

Mid/late 80s is when Prince jammy really became king and that wasnt really until Noel Davey's Sleng Teng riddim propelled him. Tubbys was Jammys teacher remember, so to say Tubbys started producing in the late 80s doesnt even follow a logical timeline. Remember that artists lime Pinchers, Shabba, Wayne wonder, Sanchez etc were prolific in th late 80s and they were after tubbys reign, therefore tubby couldn't have started in the late 80s. In fact, he passed away in the late 80s!!

Scientist is highly talented but I'm not sure what his issue is now. He is not bigger than Tubby. Yes, a lot of tracks were stolen and republished and sold as "Tubbys" when they were Scientist dubs. Same goes for "Jammys" dubs that were really Scientists. Tubby created his own equipment, and Scientist too. But Scientist's true innovations were with the Roots Radics. Unique sounds effects and filter work. It's easy to hear Scientist's trademark work in any work. But Scientist is one cynical guy, because of his legal trouble and the guys and corporations leeching from his work. He has a lot of "other", more recent work, too. He doesn't advertise that, does he. Geezer is mostly into $$$$. But I don't detract from his work at Firehouse and with Tubby. The old Scientist was the real Scientist.
