I bought one for my pool and it cleans great! At first I was skeptical but after I installed it, it cleaned out all the little bugs that were floating on top. And the best thing, no cutting into the liner.

I too was skeptical, but it keeps a lot of debris of the bottom. I'll welcome anything to keep me from vacuuming so much.

I found that running the skimmer along the pool pole and using two zip ties It eliminates having to adjust daily because of the plastic clips being so horrible on the top of the pool. Saves me a lot of headaches everyday. It no longer moves at all and sits perfectly level in the pool at all times.

I bougt one last year, but I have a small pool, like really small 3 by 2 meters. I never got it to work properly the hoses were pushing it up. I have now bought a skimmer to build into the wall of the pool, and even though that migh seem to be overkill for such a small pool, I have hopes it will be better.

The skimmer used with liner was a game changer for me, however after just 2 months it’s not working the same as it used to, I’m guessing I need a bigger pump!
@ludwig716 ай бұрын
It's so hard to keep my skimmer from slipping because the clamps are basically plastic on plastic, so I'm going to try and bolt it onto the frame with a couple of screws.

My 9 by 18 intex is on its last leg. My pool came with this skimmer. It works well enough. BUT the curved part will break with normal pool use from the kids. I’m on my 3rd skimmer support.

Yeah I make my oldest take it out when they get in. Otherwise it would be destroyed.
@juliahulse52727 ай бұрын
Would I just leave the hoses for the intakes as it with the plunger valve between them?
@Hobbitbuilds6 ай бұрын
You would leave everything open as per the instructions that came with the skimmer. To get that full suction, you would want to place a plug over one inlet.

I bought this one but battled keeping it secure on the side of the pool. I'd come out to the thing floating in my pool and my pump suffering. I went with another design.
@Hobbitbuilds6 ай бұрын
Yeah, I've heard similar from others. Some seem to function well, others not so much. I've had a good experience, but I'm glad you found something that works for you. My father went with a Hayward skimmer and cut into the lining. He seems to like it.

How about if you have a sand pump would you need to block life that second inlet?
@Hobbitbuilds7 ай бұрын
You may not have to if your sand pump is running with good pressure. I just got a sand filter and I ran it the other day without plugging the second intake.

I had to put the reducer on one outlet. Suction wasn’t too good without it. Using a SX2100 pump on a 15 ft pool

I have a 12x30 with the 1500 pump (i just ordered) would I need to plug one of the inlets? If so how do do that? Thanks!
@dasauto75jh5 ай бұрын
Yes. Use one of the black plugs that came with your pool. I have the same size pool and bought a sand filter pump to get the flow needed for it to properly skim the pool.

Why does my scimmer always comes off the railing i tighten the plastic bolts really tight but go back to my pool after a couple of hours and its came off and just floating
@Hobbitbuilds Жыл бұрын
Hmm, have you tried turning it off and then back on again? Just kidding. I haven't had this issue, but if I had to give a guess, maybe check to see if the hose is putting too much upward pressure. I had to work my hose to get it into a good position.
@marcihill4662 Жыл бұрын
Depending on what pool you have my sure it’s over the “lip” of the rail. I have a 22x52 Coleman. I’m short and have to get in a step stool and push down on it so it stays down into like a locking position. It’ll stay perfectly then.
@hebaadan74908 ай бұрын
So you have to have 2 inlets to use this? Did I understand that right?
@Hobbitbuilds8 ай бұрын
I do believe so.
@greenfocus52366 ай бұрын
no, you dont!
@bt84069 ай бұрын
man thats bigger than i thought, seeing you hold it. and great, you just showed me how much travel it has, which is important for how much water loss i can get. so is that about 8 inches of travel?
@Hobbitbuilds9 ай бұрын
Alignment is key to this working correctly. There can be a lot of movement of the basket and the wall brace. I typically have the brace fairly deep and then the basket will have room to drop into it as your water levels fluctuate.
@bt84069 ай бұрын
@@Hobbitbuilds awesome, how deep will it go though? my girls lose atleast 6 inches of water in a session on a bad day, and i dont want my sand filter burning up if i have the other port blocked off. im afraid it will suck dry. Its good to see you have the brace fairly deep, that makes me feel like this may work without running risk of ruining the pump.
@Hobbitbuilds9 ай бұрын
@bt8406 With a sand filter I wonder if you even have to cap the other intake? You do have a lot play, I would think you just keep an eye on it and you would be good.

So this one was a 16ft x 48 Intex. For me Walmart and Academy had the best deals.

How do you remove the basket when the handle to the basket is blocked by the sock? Curious for the best way do debris doesn’t get back into the pool
@Hobbitbuilds Жыл бұрын
I just reach into the basket and grab it through the sock, then lift both basket and the blue liner.
@Superman-xr1oh9 ай бұрын
The handle is removable.
@dasauto75jh5 ай бұрын
I put the basket in the sock. So the sock is outside the basket. Still catches anything that goes through the basket holes.
