Really great film, this.... thank you for posting. I saw this as a teenager when it came out and was captivated the whole way through. It was partly responsible for me joining the British Army straight from school at the age of 16.🇬🇧🇬🇧✌✌

The character “Lumpy” is played by Mark Williams, who currently stars in the title role of “Father Brown Mysteries”!

Vaguely remember watching a film in primary school about a deserted soldier during the Falklands war but,for the love of me i cant remember the name of the film,all i can remember was that the soldier befriended a couple of kids who kept him hidden and gave him food.Quite like to watch it again if anyone knows the film.

I think he actually got separated, he was a medic or something and got lost. It was a channel 4 film.
