The tree your trimming in this video is a Yew tree. Taxis Brevafolia, the original source for taxol used in cancer treatment and here in the Pacific Northwest, the Natives used for bows, and in Europe for horse whips since it's known to be very strong and flexible as you found when you landed on your backside. Made me laugh, sorry....

Love your stories and look forward to your posts. Just a note on the 12-tree. If you trim off the bottom branches the tree can focus it's energies on the canopy. Otherwise it's giving those branches attention- which you really don't want.

If you can get the garden beds dug out, even if you don’t plant, all that tree trimming will be good to woodchip on site as mulch! Saves transporting it every time!

In Interior Designs I find that tile work ages the fastest of all the interior spaces. I dont mean the actual material but the overall look and style. Yet you cannot change it up quickly like a wall color. you probably wouldnt want to rip out the bathroom because its too big a job to actually do once your taste changes or the overall look didnt age well. Choose a timeless design. Something that ages well and is not easily put into one design era. My tip would be to do 2/3rds of the lower walls tiled and paint or wallpaper above. Except for the shower area of course. Choose a simple design for the tiles. No fancy shapes, neutral colors. Go crazy or stay calm for the design above the tiles. You can easily change it up. Stick to one tile for the wall and one for the ground. that would be my recommedation. Looking forward to seeing the renovation process on your channel.

Hi Daphne and Ian hope you are well. I was just wondering if you know of a KZbin channel called Chateau De Purnon. I've been watching them for a little while and I think they have received some funding to help fix their chateau roof. I think the funding was applied for through something called monument historique or French Heritage Society. It might pay you to take a look at their channel. I don't really understand how they got the funding but it may be something you can also apply for.

"Top Peak" of the Roof when roofing material is applied like tile or slate" Under roofing material is the Ridge Board at the peak or it could be called a compass rafter if it is curved or bowed on the top (the top surface of a rafter is called its "back") or both the top and bottom surfaces can be called the back. Really important to understand the basic geometry of your roof after all it is the single most expensive item to replace on your Chateau its a multi-million dollar proposition. I would suggest you take look into courses on "Skillshare" you are both acting "Construction managers" at the chateau on top of everything else, Who knows maybe they will sponsor you.
