What’s a really good movie?....in my opinion a really good movie is a movie you keep watching again and again, and every time you watch it again some things, sometimes minor things, grab your attention, not having noticed them earlier.... and thus amazingly surprising you again and again....and indeed LOTR is such a movie!👍

Cinematic experiences like the LotR trilogy are extremely far and few in between. I miss eagerly waiting for these to come out in cinemas...
@tacituskilgore88594 жыл бұрын
I was too young to watch them in cinema. I saw them multiple times on DVD and blu-ray and last year I went to an LOTR-marathon will all Extended Editions in one day. It was such a great experience to see these beautiful movies on the big screen. The rohirim screaming "DEATH" on the Fields of Pelennor, the last march of the ents, The Battle of Helms Deep, Gandalf's fight against the Durin's Bane, Samwise fighting Shelob, The Crack of Mt. Doom,... I have to stop myself from continuing 😅 watching these movies in cinema was like a dream come true. No Godfather, no The Dark Knight, No Shawshank Redemption, no Apocalypse Now, not a SINGLE movie will ever be better than The Lord of the Rings to me. Their characters and their music, their stories and their battles, their suffering and their joy, it all became a part of me and of my life. And I carry them with me.

Epic journey, epic friendship, epic love, epic bravery. Selflessness, courage, hope, heroism, beautiful emotions... No evil intentions, no selfish desires, no 'lets also understand villain's feelings" shit. We need more epic movies and journeys like LOTR.

While I agree that we need more epic stories, diving into villain emotions isn't inherently bad, just badly executed a lot. Smeagol is a complex villain, for example, while Sauron isnt

I love LOTR so much, one of the greatest pieces of fiction, literature and cinema ever created, but I feel like the reason it is so great is because it was written during a certain time period, I don’t know if LOTR would be as well-received if the books were written today or the movies were made now, but that’s just me, I want to know other people’s opinions😁😁

Late in the evening of Sept.11 last year, as I was watching the third of the LOTR trilogy, The Return of the King, there was a knock on the door of my quarantine room. Outside, my sister spoke to tell me that our beloved mother has passed away in the silence of the night. Her cancer-ravaged ageing body couldn't take the pain any longer. I love how all shots are beautiful. Not only wide shots, panoramas and landscapes like in some films. Everything: close-ups, portraits, battle scenes, inside and outside, at night (you can actually see what’s going on!) and during the day (the work with the light is spectacular). The landscapes in particular are fascinating as well, partly because almost all are real places. Superb work both by the crew and by the editor!
