Back in the 80's when I was about 7 or 8 I was at my grandparents house (they lived on a big cul-de-sac with very VERY little traffic) playing out front and happened to be in the circle goofing around when one of the neighborhood dogs got out and started running down the street teeth out trying to attack me. That was until my grandfathers cat hopped the back fence barreled across the yard and went airborne like Super Fly Jimmy Snuka landing on the dogs back and attacking it and protecting me from the dog. Once the dog gave up and took off running down the road his cat ran over and kept himself between me and dog till it was out of sight. At which time he waited till I went back to the door to go inside and he took off back into the backyard.

Twice my elderly mom's corgi/shepherd mix Kara broke her fall by getting under her head & body as she started to fall. Kara was very protective of her. She was the smartest dog we've ever had.

My two dogs Harley and tessa were there for me when I felt depressed and anxious I have mental issues where I have anxiety and depression and autism and my mom was always being not good for my mental stability so when I was like that they would cuddle and kiss and let me pet them and just act funny to make me laugh especially Harley who was the one who cared about me the most he was like a child to me cause he connected with me. I loved that dog he always seemed to make me laugh.

My dog has never HAD to save me, but he is extremely protective of me, and I know he would. He has reacted in ways that tell me if the danger was real, he wouldn't hesitate. If I scream, he is immediately on alert, like the time a spider fell off the doorframe onto my arm. I screamed and he whipped around and pushed past me to block the doorway from the perceived threat....and he was very confused when nothing was there 😆

My sweet & very smart dog, Lucy saved my baby nephew’s life. She’s an off leash dog. We went camping with my brother and his family. He kept nagging and saying to tie up Lucy (control issues for him, as she never roams away or try to steal food or cause any trouble) so he tied her up to a log. We were preparing dinner, total chaos with everyone running around and the loud kids, etc… Lucy started barking like she was on fire, nobody paying attention. I look over and she’s pulling and dragging that log as she tries to get to my 2 year old nephew heading straight to the river. She saved him, even tied up. My brother gave her a steak that night lol

Almost all animals recognize babies of all species. They can become very protective of the children and know that the child needs help.

When my dad and his siblings were kids, they had a Doberman named Ollie. One day, as my uncle was crossing the street to get on the bus, a car tried to speed past the bus. Ollie ran out into the road and pushed my uncle out of the way of the car!! Sadly, Ollie didn’t survive the accident, but my uncle was unscathed. Dogs are truly the best!! 💕

When I was 12 my first Rottweiler my folks got me protected me from a mistreated/aggressive pit bull that came after me in front of my childhood home. My parents had already left for work and I was walking to the pool that late morning.. and my dog broke through our wooden gate to come save me.. then fellow neighbors came to break up the fight between the two dogs...a month later that same pitbull broke through the neighbors window to attack our dog when I let him out to use the restroom there dog died on scene and unfortunately mine didn't make it at the vet.. he had no severe injuries, but died of shock... to this day Rottweiler are my favorite choice for both family dog and protection... they will fight to the death for their family

Stormy, my neighbor's high content wolf hybrid, didn't save me, but she came to the rescue when I was screaming for help when another dog attacked my dog. When the attack happened, all my dog wanted to do was get away and he didn't try to fight back even though he weighs over 70 lbs. The attacking dog was 80 lbs of lean muscle so I was struggling to hold him back and started screaming for help. Stormy came running to help protect her son, my dog, and ripped into his legs with a nearby Pyrenees trying to attack his face and neck. It could have been a lot worse if she had not come to our aid and, while she never liked to play with her son, she didn't hesitate to protect us, who she had accepted into her pack. Animals know...

My sons service dog saves his life all the time. He has epilepsy and she is a seizure detection dog. She alerts me if he is having one and wasn't originally trained to do so. She naturally did this starting at 6 weeks old. When we found out what she was alerting us for we then got her obedience trained and she became his service dog instead of just his pet.

my mom used to suffer seizures often, i had a dog that would always lay acrossed her lap right before she had a seizure or lick her thigh if she was standing.. so we caught on after a while. my mom would know to put stuff down and try to set herself up so she wouldnt hurt herself

we assume animals are stupid because they can't talk and tell us what is going on inside their head. We are learning that animals are far more intelligent that we once thought.

When burglars broke into my house, my dog Thunder picked up my .50 caliber Desert Eagle and mowed down those punks in a hail of gunfire. Way to go, Thunder! Okay, that didn't really happen, but Thunder was the best friend I ever had and he understood me better than any human ever did. I miss you, Puddin', and I'll see you in heaven.

There's no and if's buts about it, my dog saved my life TWICE. I had two grand mau seizures in the middle of the night and the dog was rooms away and immediatly woke the house up to let them know, he ran to my door and strated barking right before it happened and as it was happening. The same thing happend when I was downstairs and he was upstairs.

Not sure if it was a life saving thing but I was taking my dog for a walk in the woods. We’d been back there several times and he’s always been fine. But this one day we went in and he was having none of it. All he wanted was to go home and he almost pulled me off my feet a few times. I live in Pennsylvania so we have bears, bobcats, fisher cats, coyotes, and who knows what else (we’ve also had bigfoot sightings 🤪) but whatever was out there that day…he knew it and he wanted no part of it. Never found out what it was because I heeded the warning and turned around and left.

I have 2 pitbulls and I dunno if they necessarily saved our life …yes they probably did but, a coyote tried to attack me and my wife. Both Bella and Bloo didn’t hesitate and not only took on the one coyote but there were 4 others. Our female grabbed the first one that turned out had rabies and the male took on the other 3, the last one ran . 3 dead coyotes 1 gravely injured and a 5th that ran away. a few stitches for Bella and Bloo and rabies shots all around and the coyotes never came back on out land again.

The bear, albeit did help the guy, likely was not thinking about him and it was more of defending her space from an animal that could kill and eat her cubs.

My dad was basically saved by our dog. He was home alone taking a shower, when the dog was barking crazily, he got out at went to see what was causing it. The under the cabinet mounted coffee maker caught on fire and was starting to burn the wall. If the dog didn't bark at it, who knows how fast the fire could have spread.
@stephensivik2337 Жыл бұрын
That was one story. The next story was at a different house with a different dog. My dad is basically disabled but can walk. He was taking my boxer outside in the winter while I was at work. He slipped, fell, and hurt himself. Luckily, my dad had his cell phone on him, so he could call 911. My boxer stayed right beside him and wouldn't leave when police and the EMTs got there. One of the police officers had to persuade my dog to leave my dad's side and put him in the garage. Those are only two minor stories compared to what the video showed.

I am riddled with skin cancer from being an idiot when I was young. I'm blonde, pale-skinned and I grew up in the Arizona desert, out in the sun every day, all summer long. My Cairn Terrier, George, can smell a tumor when it's almost invisible. He'll get very agitated and worry at a spot on my skin until I make an appointment with my dermatologist and she has confirmed the cancer every time. More than 60 times my little guy has "saved" me. He's 13 now, and I worry what I'll do without him when the time comes. I honestly hope I'll die before he does.
