I've gone from being a happy, proud, loud Christian to someone who's been hit with severe depression, doubt, anxiety and second-guessing my beliefs in God. Thank God for Fr. Mike and his team. How beautiful that you are here. Mother Teresa went through times of doubt and spiritual suffering. The devil is trying to take you away from your hope. Pour out your heart to God. He can take it and he will help you at your lowest. Even when you can't see it immediately. I promise you are made for great things and there is better ahead.

I believe there is a lot of spiritual warfare that God is allowing to happen for our greater good...to lead us to Him through exercises and fellowship such as this bible study provides. I am totally dependent on closed captioning. I was somewhat able to follow along on the podcast reading my Bible but when it came to Fr. Mike’s reflections, I was not able to understand what was said due to my severe hearing loss so that is where the closed captioning helps me 100%. The other thing that is good about this being on KZbin is that I may not always have my Bible with me so I will still be able to follow along. I just finished today. It took a year and a half but I couldn’t have done it at all without Fr. Mike! I was so emotional being the last day. Ezekiel 13:2, beware of priests who teach from their imagination. They don't have the Holy Spirit. It's a sin to call Mike "father". Matthew 23:8. Easter is not in the Bible, Passover is in the Bible. Christians honor Jesus resurrection and Passover and Feast of unleavened bread in the same week. Matthew 22:17.Exodus 12. Forced celibacy of priests and nuns, and forced poverty to give up their worldly possessions is not in the Bible. 1Timothy 3:2. Rosaries are forbidden. Matthew 6:7. You are supposed to use Anointing oil not Holy Water. James 5:14 and Exodus 40:9.

Beginning year 4 of Bible In A Year….Each year I have taken a different approach to this study. Last year I used The Bible in a Year Companion Guides and a Gratitude Journal. This year I plan on reading along in my Bible as Father Mike reads, then study the commentaries and spend more time in prayer. Thank you Ascension and Father Mike. This just took my faith/relationship to another level, quote "God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness, freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life," He wasn't lonely, or wondering what to do with his time. Prior to reading this I sensed/believed God made us because He wanted to love us. And yes, in this explanation clearly there is His Love, that there is no other reason but to share His blessed life with us. A kind of 'I have this GREAT existence and I really want to give this to you,' I think God may even be giddy (my human standard of thinking, which I am pretty sure I'm not quite capturing it in God's glory/understanding and meaning, since God's ways are not our ways) but He REALLY wants to give this opportunity to us because it is such a great thing. How cool! Anyway, I love (no, CRAVE) God more after this. Not only because He wants to give me something that He thinks is so great but that He does so in a PERFECT manner, that this is a PURE desire coming from nothing else, no selfish/self-serving reasons. I so want to be like God, to be completely unselfish and to view that experience as the best thing ever. I wonder what that would be like, to exist with that feeling that we are more to each other but not ourselves and there is so much in that - true perfect Love. THAT, could be happiness for us and we may not know the full extent of that in our limited human understanding. I want MORE God (as I says this tripping over myself on the way to God)!!!! Was that a prayer??? Please pray for me. Specifically, I feel the need for speed, in other words, I feel like a supersonic jet wanting to head towards God, BUT I need the assurance of a correct trajectory - that I am headed towards God. I don't want to be going super fast in the wrong direction. To please pray for me for: I need the Holy Spirit, the angels, Jesus, God the father, Mary close and all YOUR prayers that my direction is right, OBEDIENCE, courage, mental clarity, the skills to do what God wants me to do, to HEAR Him when he is giving me an 'order,' the right almsgiving, need help with fear and anxiety too. Thank you.

I so totally agree with you Matt. I managed to follow right to the end but had to do a bit of binging after being on holiday but it has so been worth it. I can see the whole Bible so differently now and see exactly what Fr Mike says and Jeff, how it all fits together. This is my second time around Father Mike. I realized the importance of listening to our father's words on a daily basis. There is something new to discover each episode. The Bible is a message of our Father's love for us. Thank you so much Ascension Team for putting this together so beautifully. Thank you Father Mike for being our Priest and shepherding us through. I have studied for 4 years and then read it on my own over 5 more times but never understood the way I do now. I'm going to keep it as part of my life and I'm looking forward to the Catechism in a year next. You're in my pocket when I run each morning, "First Fruits," Father Mike. I'm not running alone! Life is so beautiful, I used to love those Nature/National Geographic specials on PBS or the magazines. It is amazing everything he has created. The most intricate, laborious feats of science and art that man has achieved over the centuries still pale in comparison to the design of God in a simple leaf. It's amazing!
