I visited Washington D.C. last year. Ray Comfort was out on the street, interviewing people for god knows what, and he came up to me (probably because I was wearing a rainbow acceptance bracelet) and asked me my opinion on evolution and homosexuality. As if those two subjects are synonymous. -_- Anyway, he started asking me if I was a good, moral person, etc., never giving me a chance to answer. Eventually I shut him up and said, "If I'm to answer _any_ of your questions, I'm going to have my sister record it too." When he asked why, I said, "I know you edit out important information to make people look bad. So if you do anything with this footage, I'll have my own to release." Well, he gave me some bullshit about how my sister's camera might electronically disrupt his professional camera (as if it gave off EMPs or something), and he walked away. What a disingenuous piece of shit. XD

And respect peoples life decisions as long as they don't harm anyone else with it.

MHM EEKK "Except for hate" Alright i'm confused about whether you are ignorant or just crazy. You argue that atheists hate god and ignore the fact that you aren't making any sense with that assertion. I don't hate santa, I don't hate zeus, I don't hate the monsters under my bed. You cannot hate something you do not believe exists, if you can't understand that then why are you even trying. " inability to capitalize the 'G'." him not doing X does not mean he cannot do X. By your logic because you don't understand the meaning of the word atheist you can never understand what an atheist is and as such cannot make calls on what we might be thinking or feeling making your own arguments about what we feel worthless - thanks for defeating yourself. "This sounds quite self-righteous." if common decency and a general self awareness is self-righteous then I will be self righteous. It's a better moral code than the one in the bible depicting slavery, rape, genocide and the beating of children to be moral. Do us all a favour and commit yourself to an asylum to join the rest of the fruitcakes. I'm going to assume that you are either not going to respond or will respond with nonsense as per usual, I would be pleasantly surprised if you could string a coherent argument together.

It's weird to think that in America people pretty much have to live off of tips. Disgusting to think, in fact. In the UK if a person gives a tip it's because the service was good or the person is incredibly generous, because we pay our workers at least enough to live.

Re: The rant about tips at the end: I think most Europeans know they are supposed to tip when they go to USA. We just sometimes have a hard time knowing the extent of where you are supposed to. Many think it's only in restaurants for example, so they will seem rude when not tipping at a beauty place. We just don't understand how many people actually do not get a living wage, because it's completely foreign to us. I know I've made this mistake before, out of pure ignorance. :( But yeah, in many countries in Europe it is rude to tip, though worse in some countries than others. If you did it in Denmark, where I'm from, the waiter or whatnot would either just be thankful, or they might even be so confused they'll try to give you back your money. But in places like France, yeah, it's pretty rude. :D

TheAnMish I personally feel tipping should only be done when the service is exceptional. A basic service really doesn't warrant a tip. An apologetic waitress who tries to hurry a replacement meal because the chef messed up does.

Tipping is strange even within a country. When I lived in London and worked behind a bar, regulars would say 'and one for you' when ordering a round, meaning charge a drink and put it away for later but when I moved to Manchester the wording was the same but it meant take 20p and put it in a pot. I find the US comulsory tipping strange but it's obviously a cultural thing.
@TheLastRaven69 жыл бұрын
Christian Holmes In the USA its more common to give a tip based usually on about 5% of your total meal (Usually isn't more than 5 bucks for the average family of 3 or 4, some people give more if they feel the waiter/waitress was good.)
@christianholmes99939 жыл бұрын
TheLastRaven6 That's not unreasonable really, $5 between 4 people. I've heard that not tipping in the US is considered rude because wait staff don't receive a full wage, is that right?
@Alex-05979 жыл бұрын
Christian Holmes Yeah. Service staff like waiters receive less than minimum wage because it's thought that tips make up for that. Tipping minimum wage (which applies when you receive at least $30 in tips per week) is $2.13 while the national non-tipping minimum wage is $7.25.

You put your movie on your channel, you get the views, so you get the money. Somebody jacks it, they're getting the views instead of you, so they're stealing your click money. This gives posters legal standing, because money is potentially involved, despite what the actual motivation for the poster to take action against the pirate is. It may indeed be that Living Waters was more interested in controlling the message instead of grasping at every penny in pinching range like Scrooge McDuck, which would make Living Waters the Christian ministry equivalent of The Pokémon Company in terms of draconian YT content policing. Pokémon is _infamous_ for using copyright takedowns to control the message, such as shutting down leaks, scrubbing anime review videos, etc.

As evidence, he openly says his primary motivation has been "this weird dream" and dreams are a way the unconscious mind deals with things that make you emotional. I can't even think of a straight couple in the movie, and Peter scowls at all the gay couples, straight marriage isn't talked about but he scowls when he hears about gay marriage, so basically he scowls every time he thinks about other people in love. Movie's about a jealous awkward loner who uses fundamentalism to tear apart happy couples.

@Mirrorgirl4929 жыл бұрын
Well they have been on television for close to 18 years actually, and the first 12 of those the sound never improved. Finally the television station improved some of their equipment and the sound did improve. Seems no-one in those 18 years have been able to work out how to make the phones work. The few episodes they did a couple of years ago from Matt's place were actually the best quality they have achieved. The current format is admittedly fraught with difficulties because they are still working on every aspect: sound, video, callers etc, so I really don't mind that much. I love the show regardless of the quality, but it sort of says to me that they don't have many folks who really know what they are doing technically and that is a shame because the information they give out every week is interesting, engaging and entertaining. I hope they find some folks who can help them with it. I don't expect ANY amazing effects, just something that doesn't come off as so unprofessional. I mean seriously there are kids on the internet making huge amounts of quality content that looks very professional, so it is possible. If my family lived in the US, my sons would be able to work it all out for them in one episode. Being completely honest, in the hands of a competent director, the dream scene where he meets the lesbians and sees him die later could be used as commentary about homophobia instead of commentary about people letting other people be gay. I mean think about it: The protagonist almost has a homophobic moment, he decides not to and we support him on that. The old man has a homophobic moment and intentionally kills two innocent people as a result, making you think of what might have happened if the protagonist followed through on his own homophobia.
@MrThesar309 жыл бұрын
The Top Ten Things that Actually Sound Like an Audacity (after watching the actual movie) 1. People who are not gay think about homosexuals a lot. And I mean: A LOT. 2. The choice of adultery is the same as someone choosing to be straight. 3. Some interviewers like to deep throat their subjects with the mic, which could be attempted murder, sexual assault or lust on the sin-counter. 4. A hostage that literally puts another hostage’s life in danger is called a hero. 5. Maybe it is easier to say you’re “not judging others” when you put words in those people’s mouths and then convince them that they’re only judging themselves. Brilliant! 6. Thank goodness, all interviewees agreed with the interviewer…and not one opposing view. Those couldn’t possibly have been cut... 7. …and I thought only liberals made propaganda films. 8. Portraying homosexuals as everyday people in Christian-biased movies is the equivalent to Republicans showcasing their token Black conservatives. 9. This must be the deadliest city in Amurica: everyone’s either on their deathbeds with cancer, held up, assaulted by trains or murdered by elevators. 10. I’m pretty sure God hates comedians who only do impressions waaay more than the gays.

What xtians don't seem to get is that they belong to a club. Their club has rules....for the members of the club. That's great. If they want to belong to that club then go ahead and follow the club rules. But please don't then leave your club house and run up to non-club members and tell them they need to follow your club's rules too. Maybe they belong to another club with different rules. Maybe they don't want to belong to any club. So just leave people alone.

What I really don't get is this scenario where you're out and about, doing your own thing and some fanatic with a camera and a microphone accosts you with rapid-fire questions about shit you don't really care about, railroads the conversation, _then_ ask you to sign a release form to use the footage... Yet people obviously do. Just, _why?_

The elevator scene reminds me of when I worked at an elevator company. They had a 2 story building with an elevator. It was always getting stuck. So, of course I always took the stairs. One time the guard got caught and I let him out. One day they had some Japanese guys inspecting the place and they took the elevator, I guess to impress them. Well, they succeeded beyond all doubt. As I was walking out the door, I heard the emergency alarm. I laughed and went on to lunch. Not missing my lunch break for a couple of tourists.

Next time, do it the easy way. Make a COMMENTARY video that goes with the video seeing as it's free on youtube. Then you won't need to do pictures AND I COULD ACTUALLY FOLLOW WHAT THE FUCK WAS HAPPENING...
@TheBibleReloaded9 жыл бұрын
Josh Walker We said in the video we can't use footage, just because it's on KZbin doesn't mean we can use it. It's still his footage and he can dmca us if we use it without permission. Thus the links to the movie where you can see for yourself what we're talking about.
@jincangu9 жыл бұрын
TheBibleReloaded I think he meant that you would do the commentary while watching the film, so that we can watch the original video simultaneously and see what you're seeing (which wouldn't work imo because there would be too much downtime).

TheBibleReloaded A commentary video doesn't need actual video in it because it's just synced up with the other video it's commenting on. Anyways, just an idea for the future plus it's less work. Thanks for the response :P

The most difficult thing about debunking Ray's arguments is the fact that he makes no sense. His arguments are like, "God is obviously real because in reality some things fail to freshen thoughts of blue beginnings under sequential monitoring without perplexity." You can't debunk that shit.

I like your discussion on how Ray takes advantage of young people who are "culturally Christian", I was in there shoes. I considered myself a Christian until I was 25. I was never a heavy holy roller, and I didn't read the Bible much, and that allowed me at times to be persuaded by anyone like Ray who could rattle off passages. I'd try to argue from my heart, but they had the scripture and they could shame me for not knowing it.

I found your channel through Undoomed's mirror of your lawsuit gofundme video. I really enjoy you guys and while I wish I did have the money to add to your campaign at the moment, I just don't. However your videos are fantastic and I have been binge watching them, especially your movie reviews. As somebody who has worked in the service industry for every job previous to the one I am working right now, I really appreciate the argument you put forward for employees in the service sector. I can tell you from experience that most employees will for the most part (except for the occasional bad apple) always try their best to deliver the best experience possible. I'm not trying to excuse those delivering bad service, but I am making a comment about their intentions. Sometimes the kitchen has a party of 30 that they are in the middle of serving before you put your order in, and you are delayed by 10 minutes or 25 at a premium restaurant. I have worked both as a server and as a line cook and (like I said not everybody, but my experience personally) I always took pride in my work and tried to do the best I could for my employer and more importantly, the guest. My last employer told me after he noticed how I worked my ass off when I started that so long as I tried my best to take care of the restaurant (at the time as a cook and part time dishwasher) that the restaurant would take care of me. He fulfilled that promise by getting me front of house experience, first as a host and then as a server and without detracting from the difficulty of the job, I will say it can be (if you can get full time work during good hours) the best paycheck you can receive without a college or higher diploma.

Honestly though, the differences in tipping culture is pretty stark. I remember when a visitor tipped me time (and it was, twenty euroes or something) and I refused and said "no, no, please, it was just my job" but they insisted and later I kind of felt bad about it, as if I was stealing or something. After all, they paid a different price than guests normally do, which seems unfair towards them.

i disagree about the tips. the waiters lose and the customers lose. the only one who wins is the owner of the place. it's a vicious cycle. you are expected to leave a tip because they pay them ridiculous wages. they pay them ridiculous wages because they expect you to leave a tip. it's time for waters to be treated like every other employee. pay them a decent wage. i dont mind paying more for my food. just be upfront about it. some people claim that the tip is encouraging them to do their job well. that's bullshit. if i dont do my job well, i get fired. that's more than enough motivation to it well.

The movie was terrible, especially the ending. It is definitely self-fellatio for Bananaman. The implication that she's going to dump her girlfriend, whom she clearly loves, for the premise they went with, was just horrid. The acting wasn't terrible, and the characters weren't exactly hateful (more bland and boring), but the constant typical garbage of the non-Comfort of the world makes me puke in my mouth a bit. Also.
