The bottom line is you grew up in a time where people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities were still officially labelled ret@rd and were certainly never in the public eye. Consequently, you're not used to different speeds of speech and other variations in manner. Me, it's pretty easy. Between Rosie Jones, Flynn/Walt Jr from Breaking Bad, and actual real life people I've met, it's not at all difficult to listen to people who talk slower than most.
