2jracing Short Shifter install for b15 Sentra ser spec-V

Just a simple video of my short throw shifter, this is a must have! Very easy to install and CHEAP! It DOES require a little bit more effort to shift, but you get use to it. Our transmissions are notchy regardless.

I hate the transmission on my 06 spec V. I’m always terrified to switch into Reverse while going to 6th lol

AJ Amaya yea scary at 70mph lol. Great vids though. I’m working on a 06 spec V also. Starting with fixing up the engine a bit. Valve cover etc.. then performance. Not going to turbo it though.

@@telecaster305 05-06 Spec Vs have a reverse lockout on the shifter. That means that u shouldn't be able to shift into reverse unless it's broken and needs to be replaced. I have an 04 Spec V and it doesn't have a reverse lockout. It'd be nice though

lol i dont know what it is but going from 5th to 6th i never worry about going to reverse accidentally as i just got straight back to 6th. now if we are talking any other gear to 6th then yes i am always worried about that

I have a question, so that adapter piece you put on the shifter linkage, is there a difference between buying that vs an actual short throw shifter kit that goes on the shifter itself? Or should I buy that piece from 2j racing plus the kit for the shifter?

can you get this short throw shifter for a 04 1.8 S? It is a 5 speed btw. Also, another quick question. Is there anyway I can shorten the actual shifter shaft/rod/stick??? I have daily driven my 6 speed mustang with no issues, but with the sentra, it sorta stabs my hand because it's too tall and it hurts my bones after a while. I have to shift with my fingers like a girl to avoid this pain.... I tried changing out the shift knob, and it only helped a little bit. I feel shortening would solve the issue, since my mustang shifter has been low profile and I never had this ergonomic issue, makes me feel like an old man with arthritis.

Does this eliminate the 3rd gear grind/lockout?

No it doesn't. If anything it amplifies clicks and notchy feeling. But it feels very mechanical and faster shifts... For 3rd gear issues I'd recommend first and foremost adjusting your clutch pedal, it may not be fully disengaging when pressed. 2nd change your transmission fluid to royal purple. Or a good quality gear fluid

Honestly not sure... But they run the exact same transmission, so it shouldn't be too dissimilar
