Rothko’s work never moved me until I saw a print in someone’s living room. It was orange with a flat stripe left to right. It made me think of an explosion. It’s a bold piece.

Good documentary. Automatic drawing was introduced through the “Abstract Movement”.. rather than the Surrealists. Pioneers namely.. Hilma af Klint..(1906).. essentially implemented the concept through the medium of Theosophy.. Symbolism and Spiritism.. which had been in vogue in the late 19th century. Artists such as Kandinsky and Mondrian..(1911).. also adopted the practise.. which became the basis of their work.
@theGENIUSofART-understood10 күн бұрын
Some interesting stuff in there. Hilma looks fascinating. If we really are talking about the origins of automatic writing we need to go back to the Song dynasty in China and zen masters in Japan. It was called 扶乩/扶箕 Fuji and was linked to astrology. I had to look it up. For the purposes of the contact for Rothko, Breton will do. Glad you keeping me on my toes!

It's great besides this, but please for the next ones take something less present, it's very paradoxical to me that you're talking about the fact that he didn't want to name his paintings to leave the interpretation open... its exactly the contrary of that happening with the music, no need to fill everything, leave space, let it breath, keep on brother good job
