This is how Al-Jahiz, a 9th-century Arab scholar, has described Indian Culture: "As regards the Indians, they are among the leaders in astronomy, mathematics- in particular, they have Indian numerals and medicine; they alone possess the secrets of the latter, and use them to practise some remarkable forms of treatment. They have the art of carving statues and painted figures. They possess the game of chess, which is the noblest of games and requires more judgment and intelligence than any other. They make Kedah swords, and excel in their use. They have splendid music, including that of the kankala, an instrument with a single string mounted on a gourd, which takes the place of the many-stringed lute and cymbals. They know a number of sprightly dances, and are versed in magic and fumigation. They possess a script capable of expressing the sounds of all languages, as well as many numerals. They have a great deal of poetry, many long treatises, and a deep understanding of philosophy and letters; the book Kalila wa-Dimna (Panchatantra) originated with them. They are intelligent and courageous, and have more good qualities than the Chinese. Their sound judgment and sensible habits led them to invent pins, cork, toothpicks, the drape of clothes and the dyeing of hair. They are handsome, attractive and forbearing, their women are proverbial, and their country produces the matchless Indian aloes which are supplied to kings. They were the originators of the science of fikr, by which a poison can be counteracted after it has been used, and of astronomical reckoning, subsequently adopted by the rest of the world." They always mention the August 11 speech of Jinnah where he said that Pakistanis are free to go their mosques, church, temples etc. That was the only time he gave a hint that Pakistan would treat all people as equal. There is no other instance where he gave a similar speech. That August 11 speech was only for creating a false perception about Pakistan while the intention was always to create a pure Islamic country

Jahid Hussain said that india currently has hindu fundamentalist government in power. It seems so to people who are used to Congress's Muslim appeasement policies to the extent that Manmohan singh said the Muslims and minorities have first right to india's resources; he didn't say all have equal rights on resources. When BJP brings equality, then it feels to entitled Muslim population that they are being discremintated. No other minorities say anything, and they are super rich, but Muslims feel that way as they don't want to study math and science.

M.J.Akbar, an eminent Indian writer famously commented that Pakistan is neither a failed state nor a failing state, it is a "jelly state". When faced with crisis, it quivers, but doesn't fall off. It has an inherent ability to keep itself intact and survive and function below its potential.

One must differentiate between religious extremism & reactionary extremism. For centuries indian majority Hindus have suffered at the hands of muslims. So naturally at some point they would react strongly. You can't say " oh, we are certified bad guys, so what if we beat you, but since you are a good guy, you must not react ".

Islamic ideology is the main cause of failure down fall of this country, state. Second significant cause is existance of fuedalism which promotes dynastical polotics. Where no merit is considered. Third main reason of this failure state is intervention of armed forces in politics their hold doctatorship. They consider themself to be more reverened more priviliged.

Why pakistan a failure state ?? There are many reasons for Pakistan calling a failure State. Before jumping on the answer of this question, I would like to say something about this debate, seeing many educated people in this debate but I observed one thing everyone have focus on comparing pakistan with india. What is Pakistan's own identity. Being indian, we never got fascinated towards pakistan, never said, want to be like pakistan, never thought even in dream because we never consider pak as competitor in any field. you always consider us your competitor since 1947, There was inferior complex in pakistan from the day one, it is still there. I have seen old and new generation of pakistan through various media channel and social media. everyone talking about india and india.. India did this and that but why talking about india because you have made us your enemy from the day one and also competitor. Thats the main problem. Pakistan media have 2 hot topics since moring to till night. India, speically kashmir and indian specially modiiii 😀😀😀😀😀😀😂) Now i come to the point, why pakistan is failure state, there are many Reasons. 1) Political failure - If u see from the day one, there is no proper and strong political party who ruled for such a long time without any fear of anyone in pakistan. 2) Army control - What is the role of army in every country, it is to protect people of that country from other Nations but pak army joined political parties and they have focus to take decisions according to the situation. the day pak army got power, they start missusing that power. pakistan army looks like a PVT LTD PAK ARMY, anyone come, pay them and get their work done, pay dollar and get ur work done on time without any tension. pak generals started investing and spending that money in other Nations, What happened later, Other pak army offers got inspired from them and start doing same thing, when senior can do thing, why not juniors. 3) Corruption - There is no doubt, u will find corruption everywhere in the world but will find max corruption in Pakistan political and pak army. that's the problem, political parties and army both got compromised 4) Religion Misuse - i have observed one thing, when someone does anything wrong, bring Religion to protect that wrong action. 5) un-education and unemployment - There is no doubt, there are educated people in pakistan but numbers are very less. less educated people can not bring prosperity in that Nation, need to educate more and more people as soon as possible. educated people need jobs but if they don't get jobs, will do wrong thing, corruption and that corruption will become a part of their personality. 6) Kashmir Fobiyaaaaaaaa - Kashmir made so many people rich in pakistan around 10% but 90% people suffered because of Kashmir, pakistan people have been taught, kashmir will become pakistan so stop study or work, focus on Kashmir and Kashmir, whenever u get an opp, play victim and Kashmir card. pakistan did not get kashmir but pakistan destroyed its own economy and basic human values 7) Zero human rights and couldn't save old civilization - IF u see, whoever come in the list of pakistan army, don't like that person, even civilian, no one knows, where does that person disapper forever, specially media persons. 8) Media censorship. _ all knows pakistan media has been compromised with pak army and ruling Elite class, they give order to speak this and that, especially against india on daily bases 9) Dollar - Pakistan people loves dollars, can do anything for dollar, that dollar brought so many things in pakistan, when someone get free of cost something, that become habit of that person, to beg every day, month and year. to give you an example, we generally see kids and old people ask for money at Red light,.... people pay them 5 Rs, 10Rs, 20Rs, 50rs,100Rs, 500 Rs. Pakistan has become that beggar today, whoever pay max money, will become slave of that country like China and USA. Both countries used pakistan till now since 1947 Now pakistan wanna, india come and save pakistan but india doesn't wanna to save pakistan, india wanna, pakistan always be like this because india knows, there is no govt in pakistan, no one knows, who is controlling pakistan, all are fighting for power, from imran khan to shabaz sharif, Jardariii and pak army. all wanna to sit on that chair and enjoy luxury life. Pakistan people love Army rule and corruption, it is in their blood now, will be very difficult for change. Next to impossible Task till today.

There are 4 aspects of human endeavor: Philosopher, Tradesman, Merchant & Soldier ! Well rounded education must develop all these. Neglecting any one or over stressing few over others will always lead to flawed society. Historically the Hindu-Buddhist culture neglected the 2nd & 4th aspect to their peril and Arabs neglected first two after loss of Spain leading to their peril too… so that’s it !!

Democracy is not a matter of simply holding elections, the guest reminds the viewers. It’s about the functioning political institutions, which never developed. How could they develop when soldiers of Islam feel that they know how to govern the pygmies in Jinnah’s Amazon jungle? Most recently, they staged a puppet show with a puppet prime minister-a sexual athlete turned Taliban. A state broken people loved the show. In an economic distress, politics offered escape. What remained constant was the military rule. They ran private criminal enterprises. Loot and plunder remained in the background. The talking heads could go on and on. Talk is just a talk among the Plunderers.

My view is that male supremacy endorsed by the religion has put women in the back seat. Women’s education and their development has suffered by the hubris and consumerist mindset. That in turn has produced a generation lacking in humanity, work ethic and moral values. This generation totes religion like a medal, which should be a personal preference. This medal is the currency of the whole state. Bottom line: educate mothers, along with men. Give them value, make them part of society. Give them responsibility along with their cherished thrones, snd they will produce responsible people. 1: Take religion back to the inner sanctums of home. Religion is not a collective value, it is a personal value. Teach to respect others’ religions. 2: responsibility for their own actions i.e. conscience. I see a lack in self questioning and holding oneself responsible. Teach true history to children, fact based knowledge is the only knowledge, rest is brainwashing. Teach sciences and philosophy. Reasoning and logic is also an art that also has to be learnt. I think Mr Hoodbhoy, instead of just discussing you could start by opening a school from the very bottom. Raise children from primary education to up all the way in the right manner, even on a small scale. A school that teaches what should be taught in a school, regardless of the state criteria. A true model school. Change depends on people who can see the faults of the society.

We have in every possible way proven our inept & utter incompetence in managing our affairs. A very academic and impartial look at our report card of 75 years says it all. Other than first 11 years it's an abysmal track record with periodic false spikes of progress. It would only be prudent to consider someone like China to manage our affairs in more ways than periodic bailouts, largesse etc. The root to rot can be traced to Objectives resolution and needs herculean effort to clean these Augean stables.
