Prof stands out for different reasons they both bring a different cadence on purpose here they both killed it and if you havent heard ren rap like this look at some more of his stuff he does this! It took a couple of listens for this one to snag into my brain, but since then for the last week it hasn’t let go. I really liked Prof’s beat and the hook that I now can’t get out of my head. It’s fun and it’s fire with a West Indies flavor which I just savor. Truthfully, there are some serious themes here about the relentless struggle to make it, to be successful, to be famous at any cost (selling souls, pimping pain, monetizing life for instagram fame)…all relevant in these difficult times. Of course the absurdity of killing a politician is all about the total corruption in politics and governments who have created such a toxic and divisive culture among the people with their never ending lies., gaslighting and fear mongering. They have all sold their souls and abused their power. They have made it damn near impossible for people to make it, especially the young people. They don’t seem to care much about the shit storm they are inflicting on we the people. Of course REN and Prof are not promoting killing but they are making s very clear statement about the culture of death we live in. I think the overall effect for me is a smooth and banging beat and a very good hook. It’s rap, it’s soul with some thought provoking themes at its core. I loved it. REN the man with a thousand flows and some sweet harmony in the background. These 2 have very different and distinctive sounds and yet it just works…I call it the magic of REN. The way this is arranged has his touch all over it and like every duo I have seen him be a part of…it’s very very good listening. Have you not done Murderer? I think you'd enjoy that one - it's a bit of a rap-bop, like Power. There's a one-shot video, and also an acoustic version with some interesting musical references which you should catch. I find this one's an earworm. Maybe it's because hiphop and rap is something I grew up with and is my life from when I was a baby, so I have a certain attention span and detail with it that perhaps some others (especially those who just started liking rap because of Ren) don't have. But that doesn't take away from the talent and artistry, the man is a beast when he wants to be. And haha I have tons of reactions of his specifically, so enjoy that rabbit hole when you go down it! There are some videos (both past and future) where we may disagree, but those discussion and getting to that commonality are what I look forward to the most! I came to this one as a Ren fan, though I'd watched a whole bunch of stuff on Prof's channel (and gotvreally excited about it!) in preparation for this coming out. However, I still came to it as a Ren fan. He's my favourite artist of my 50yr life. Anyway, having said that, the voice Ren leans into in this one is my least favourite of all the ways he uses his voice and it most often leaves me feeling meh about his song. The lyrics can be poetic as shit, the wordplay can be top notch, and I'm quite prone to barely ever listening to it. While Prof came to this song with the voice I like THE MOST of his styles, lol, AND the poetry in his lyrics caught me AND he sings that great hook over that great beat. Prof takes this one over Ren hands down, for me. Keep in mind that I'm not a proper rap fan/not anyehere NEAR properly knowledgeable about rap/knowledgeable about what makes good rap *good* rap. I listen to Ren, and Ren raps, and has turned me on to Prof. That's about it for rap that I listen to. So thst's where my "review" comes from. I did quite like Ren's syllable scheme and the cadence it created. ... but yeah, that hook is a total earworm. Love the vibe of it.

@@TheBlackSpeed yh he does have many different styles of rapping some are brilliantly written or flow old style to progressive storytelling and he mixes it up sometimes making it' sound original with a bit of old skool hip hop.. he's in the UK at the moment doing secret garden and I believe he's doing some shows with Knox here in the UK.. I'll probably pass on that unless my circumstances change. I'd personally like to see him collab with Ronnie as he's planning a rock album and Ronnie would be a perfect person to steer him in the right direction...but you know Ren he might not have Ronnie's experience but he has got a mind to make any genre sound like hes made it up.
